Educational technology is an abstract field that facilitates learning and improves performance through ethical use of technology. It is guided by objectivism and constructivism, with the former viewing learning as transmitted knowledge through directed teaching and standardized tests, while the latter sees learning as constructed through student-centered, hands-on activities. When used to promote student-centered learning, collaboration, and sharpen intrinsic abilities, educational technology can be effective.
