2. The Allan Jones Story
Allan Jones takes pride in being a master jewellery craftsman. A graduate of the North East Wales
Institute of Technology, he was subsequently awarded a Licenciate from the Society of Designer
Craftsmen in London in 1981. The following year he visited Hong Kong and worked as a
jewellery designer with local icon Kai Yin Lo for several years before establishing Allan Jones &
Co. Ltd.
Rapidly becoming known as The Jewelman for his skill and artistic flair, Allan was commissioned by
local jewellers to manufacture custom pieces for their customers. This blossomed into working for
such clients as Cartier, Tiffany, Chaumet, Georg Jensen, Garrards, De Beers and Dunhill, plus
others too famous and numerous to mention. The list of private clients ranges from children to
royalty; the commissions encompass everything from signature pieces to intricate repairs.
