Digital Animal reveals US deal and promises more UK
action

Online marketing firm Digital Animal
has partnered with US software
company Vertafore and says similar
deals are planned for the UK.
Through the deal Digital Animal will
supply its social media marketing
platform to Vertafore’s network of 20 000
insurance agents, enabling them to
market directly to their customers with
Thunderbird, a social marketing product.
Digital Animal chief executive Martin Heath, pictured, said: “Thunderbird is
designed to reduce agents’ cost per acquisition, increase sales of
specialist and niche personal and commercial lines products, and provide
agents in the Thunderbird Network with marketing intelligence on
products, customers, suspects and prospects.”
Digital Animal insurance team leader Tony Humphreys added: “The
demand from brokers for help to exploit the rapidly growing importance of
social media as a new sales channel is the inspiration behind the product
and the Vertafore deal.”
Heath said Digital Animal is open for business in the UK now but was
focused on launching the US first.
“In the UK it is much more a question of introducing ourselves. We are
speaking with carriers and aggregation groups,” he said.
“If you think about the insurance landscape in the UK there are the
underwriters who provide the risk, software companies who provide the
back-end solutions, and the aggregators such as Gallagher and Hood
Group. We want to start with the US and then we will be selling the same
product in the UK this year.”
