3. The Schools and Libraries program Commonly known as E-Rate Makes telecommunications and information services more affordable Provides a discount range from 20 to 90 percent depending on household income of local community

4. E-Rate How does E-Rate services work? The school or library must develop a technology plan The school or library then provides notice that it seeks services Vendors bid to provide the desired services After USAC approves the school’s or library’s application, the vendor provides the eligible services to the school or library at discounted prices

5. E-Rate Who Pays for the Schools and Libraries Program? Funds for this program are collected from a pool of telecommunication companies that contribute to the UFC allocations.

6. E-Rate Are there any schools in my area that are participating in this program? You can visit USAC’s Web site to find Schools and Libraries funding specific to your state. Go to www.universalservice.org/sl/ and follow the prompts to "Funding Commitments."

12. Technology plan Goals Staff Development Provide ongoing staff development to further the use of technology. Increase the opportunities for teachers to be facilitators of learning through the use of technology. Provide training for all teachers to reach Level 3 of the minimum competencies

13. Technology plan Goals Administration and Support Services Provide technological resources for instructional management. Develop a consistent evaluation process. Provide support services to ensure hardware, software, and network infrastructures are operational and well maintained

Coordinate resources to maximize benefits to students and staff. Provide an adequate infrastructure to support the established instructional goals and administrative applications.

15. Summary The Technology Plan has helped to develop a strong technology program for our district WISD is Strongest in the Administration and Support Services. WISD is the weakest in Infrastructure and Technology.
