4. David Garson
∗ David is a senior partner and managing
partner at Guberman, Garson . He is a
member of the American Immigration
Lawyers Association a past-chair of its
Canada Chapter, and also of the
Continuing Legal Education Committee
of the Young Lawyers Division –
Canadian Bar Association. He has also
served as co-programme coordinator
for the immigration section of the
Canadian Bar Association – Ontario.

5. Joel Guberman
∗ Joel is a senior partner at Guberman,
Garson and has been practicing in the
field of immigration law for over 30
years.
∗ His clients include senior executives
and individuals as well as institutions
and large multinational organizations.
He is past-chair of the Ontario Bar
Association, Immigration and
Citizenship Section; and of the Canada
Chapter of the American Immigration
Lawyers Association – of which he was
a founding member. He advises the
firm’s clients on a variety of issues
related to worldwide skilled worker
immigration.
6. Heather Segal
∗ Heather is a partner at Guberman,
Garson. She is widely recognized for
her expertise in immigration law and
speaks regularly at conferences and
seminars throughout the world.
∗ She practices exclusively in the area
of Canadian immigration law and
American Consular and Border
immigration law. She is currently a
Director on the American
Immigration Lawyers Association
(AILA) Board of Governors and has
spoken at numerous AILA
conferences.
7. Lainie Appleby
∗ Lainie, a lawyer at Guberman, Garson,
advises her clients on obtaining work
permits for business and professional
opportunities in Canada, and also
assists in making applications for
permanent residence in Canada.
∗ She is a member of the American

8. Randolph Hahn
∗ Randy is an associate at Guberman,

and citizenship law.

past chair, Immigration Section,
