- 6. As men & women, we tend to focus on the rules of God rather than the freedom.
- 7. We would rather be religious than be redeemed.
- 8. In this text, rather than focusing on what women should not wear, let’s focus on what they should.
- 9. Women should not wear braided hair, gold, pearls or expensive clothing.
- 10. Women should wear modesty, self-control, and what is proper for Godly women.
- 11. It is indeed our clothes that matter…as long as we are clothed in His riches, and not our own.
- 12. The next two verses are the favorite verses of many men.
- 13. They are also some of the most divisive.
- 14. What does this look like in the local church?
- 15. Male elders. Women leading women. Complementarianism.
- 16. The biggest complaint some have about this verse is its restriction on women.
- 17. Let me ask you a question: are verses 11 and 12 more restrictive on women…
- 18. Or on men?
- 19. If women are not to be teaching & leading the Church, then who should be?
- 20. Men.
- 21. The problem with the American Church today, even in the Bay Area, is that men refuse to step up & lead.

- 24. Eve was created as a helper for man’s work.

- 26. Who does the serpent come after?
- 27. Eve.
- 28. Is this what God actually instructed?
- 29. No.
- 30. Did Eve hear the word from God?
- 31. Adam is a bad Bible teacher.
- 32. Adam is not only a bad Bible teacher, he’s a coward.
- 33. Men are to lead by standing strong, protecting the women in our lives meant to help us.
- 34. Who does God call to?
- 35. Adam. The man.
- 36. Men: it may not be your fault, but it is your responsibility.
- 37. It is your job to protect, love, and serve the women of your home.
- 38. It is your job to protect, love, and serve the women of Hillside Church.
- 39. It is your job to protect, love, and serve the women of San Jose.
- 40. Godly Men Protect, Love, and Serve Women.
- 41. Sometimes that means repenting to them.
- 42. Sometimes that means opening your mouth not to teach, but to apologize.
- 43. Sometimes that means opening your mouth not to teach, but to compliment.
- 44. Most of the time it requires recognizing a woman’s special role in the work of Christ.
