Nederlands: Sessie “Microsoft Excel en statistiek, een praktijkvoorbeeld” “Statistiek met Excel”, een onderdeel van 20 uur uit het 3e semester in de professionele bachelor New Media and Communication Technology vormt de input van deze sessie. De opleiding kiest ervoor om Excel aan te leren met behulp van statische begrippen en vise versa. Immers Microsoft Excel is nog steeds een van de meest gebruikte analysetools op de werkplek in een (commerciële) organisatie. Soorten gegevens, frequentietabel, centrummaten, correlaties, regressie, tijdreeksen en normale verdeling zijn de basismethoden uit de beschrijvende statistiek die wekelijks in 1 uur uitgelegd worden. In een oefensessie van 1 uur wordt met de bouwstenen uit Microsoft Office Excel onder andere tabellen, draaitabellen, grafieken en de invoegtoepassing “analyse pack” oefeningen gemaakt. Dit is een voldoende basis voor latere verdieping in hun carrière. In dit uurtje worden timelapsgewijs enkele methodes uit de beschrijvende statistiek gedemonstreerd in Excel. English Session “Microsoft Excel and statistics, a practical case” "Statistics with Excel", a partim of 20 hours in the 3rd semester of the Bachelor New Media and Communication Technology is the input for this session. The study programme has been choosen for learning Excel using static concepts and vice versa. After all Microsoft Excel is still one of the most widely used analysis tools in the workplace in a company. Types of data, frequency tables, measures of central tendency, correlation, regression, time series and normal distribution are the basic methods of descriptive statistics that are explained weekly in 1 hour. In a practise of one hour the building blocks of Microsoft Office Excel such as tables, pivot tables, charts, and an add-in "analysis pack" are used to practice Descriptive Statistics. This is a sufficient basis for students for their future career. This session will demonstrate some descriptive statistics methods in Excel in a time-lapse way.

9. Beperkingen
• Excel heeft een aantal beperkingen bij het
uitvoeren van statistische berekeningen.
• Hierdoor leent Excel zich niet goed voor gebruik
bij wetenschappelijk onderzoek.
• Voor niet al te ingewikkelde verzamelingen van
gegevens en wanneer een grote
nauwkeurigheid niet van belang is, kan Excel
wel worden ingezet.

10. Datamodel = lijst of tabel
In een dergelijke lijst moeten de gegevens geen fouten bevatten, want
met fouten in een lijst gaat Excel niet altijd goed om.
Het maken van een goede lijst met betrouwbare gegevens is daarom
belangrijk.
Bij het invoeren van gegevens (de zogenaamde data entry) in een lijst
is het raadzaam om gebruik te maken van

• Voorwaardelijke opmaak
