People come back the next day or the next month and we need to revise and refresh and we are left wondering sometimes if they were even in the room – sure it does need post-course reinforcement and a manager to say it and model the behaviour – that is sometimes out of our control. Your reticular activating system is like a filter between your conscious mind and your subconscious mind. It takes instructions from your conscious mind and passes them on to your subconscious. For example, the instruction might be, "listen out for anyone saying my name".
