READING
Boxing is a combat sport where two athletes confront each
other with the objective of knocking the opponent out,
   but using only their fists.
It is an Olympic sport since the 7th century BC, when
opponents fought only using strips of leather wrapped
   around their fists.

? Can you imagine such a thing?
Curiosity: an Olympic Boxing glove weighs 284 grams.
During the Games, competitors will get through 432
  pairs of gloves!
READING
Boxing is divided into amateurs and professionals, but only amateurs can
  compete at Olympic Games.
The categories go from Light Fly Weight (46-49 kg) to Super Heavy
  Weight (over 91kg).
A referee follows the fight and athletes score by punching the opponent’s
head or upper body. Fights are divided into rounds, also called bouts. At
the Olympic Games, men’s bouts will take place over three three-minute
rounds, while women’s bouts will hold over four rounds of two minutes
   each.
Did you know? At London 2012 Games, the ever-popular men’s Boxing
events will be joined on the Olympic program by a women’s
  competition for the first time.
Medals: men’s boxing competition will feature medals in ten weight
categories. Women will fight in three: Fly Weight (48-51 kg), Light
Weight (57-61 kg) and Middle Weight (69-75 kg).
