The document discusses energy audits conducted by SGS to help organizations improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. It notes that energy consumption is a growing issue for industries due to its impact on costs and sustainability. SGS offers two levels of energy audits - walk-through audits that identify simple improvements and detailed audits using advanced tools. The audits establish energy use profiles, find savings opportunities, and provide strategies to reduce consumption. Clients benefit from cost savings, more efficient production, and sustainable reputations. The document provides an application for organizations to request an SGS energy audit.

General Information
Energy Audit
The issue of energy consumption has been a growing interest across all industry sectors not
only because of its immediate impact on production costs but also because of its
considerable impact on environmental sustainability.
An improvement in energy efficiency within your organization can potentially bring significant
business benefits. With this in mind, SGS has developed energy audit services to help you
find the best information for improvement opportunities. Energy audit services are a key part
of our dedicated energy efficiency services and the first step towards your comprehensive
energy management strategy.
Our audit provides you with a clear understanding of energy consumption in your buildings
and facilities. Quantitative findings can provide substantial practical guidelines for:
Continuous improvement in production efficiency
Identifying cost saving opportunities in energy efficiency
Starting with the development of an energy consumption inventory detailed auditing activities
will be conducted to identify buildings and facilities with particular focus on rationalizing their
energy profiles. Field measurements will be also taken to quantify critical operating
parameters. Following the establishment of an energy consumption profile, the potential
energy saving opportunities can be identified. Energy management strategy and particular
energy reduction programs can be organized and planned with reference to energy audit
results.
Our energy audit services can further provide a range of additional benefits. The findings of
an energy audit can be a good reference for your management in supporting commercial
decisions. You can acquire a sustainable reputation with your customers. As the law or
policy for energy efficiency will be enacted sooner or later; earlier preparation can enhance
your competitiveness.
A diverse range of industries have already experienced improved energy and production
efficiency following our energy audit services. SGS is the world’s leading inspection,
verification, testing and certification company, with a network of over 1,000 offices and

3. Application for Energy Audit
General Information
Our Energy Audit divides by 2 Level:
Energy Audit Level 1, Walk-through audit: Preliminary analysis made to assess
building energy efficiency to identify not only simple and low-cost improvements but
also a list of energy conservation measures to orient the future detailed audit. This
inspection is based on visual verifications, study of installed equipment and operating
data and detailed analysis of recorded energy consumption collected during the
benchmarking phase.
Energy Audit Level II – Detailed energy audit: Based on the results of the pre-audit,
this type of energy audit consists in energy use survey in order to provide a
comprehensive analysis of the studied installation, a more detailed analysis of the
facility, a breakdown of the energy use and a first quantitative evaluation of the
Energy Saving Potential selected to correct the defects or improve the existing
installations. This level of analysis can involve advanced on-site and online
measurements with high-end equipment and sophisticated computer based
simulation tools to evaluate precisely the selected energy retrofits.
Whether you are meeting internal policies, complying with legal obligations or demonstrating
your commitment to reducing your environmental impact, an SGS energy audit provides you
with energy efficiency and cost saving solutions.
Our dedicated international energy teams have longstanding expertise in identifying and
auditing energy-efficiency measures. We examine the potential for innovative design and
architecture and suggest energy-saving measures you can adopt for your business. We also
identify subsidies or incentive schemes which may be relevant to your industry or sector.
