Copyright 2011 Essay Coaching www.essaycoaching.com When I work with students in the workshops, I try to put them in the place of the college admissions officer. In some ways this is like applying for a job—you want to impress the person who is interviewing you, and hopefully have some clear idea about why you want to work for them as opposed to anyone else. When it comes to applying to school, it’s the same idea…it’s helpful to be clear about why you want to go there…so that the admissions officer can also visualize you attending this schhol.. That you’ll fit in with the others. Just like you want the school to be a good fit for you, the school wants to pick students who are a good fit for them. And this piece of paper you write is the only thing that can speak direcly to both of those needs. 07/19/11
