Deanna Button from Vancity Credit Union discussed their successful use of SharePoint and Yammer for internal collaboration. Vancity designed a social intranet called "Insite" using SharePoint 2010 to foster engagement and innovation across their organization. They later implemented Yammer to provide an additional social collaboration channel with features employees were familiar with outside the office. After an initial training period, Yammer adoption increased to 50% of employees within 6 months, and Vancity saw benefits like more active participation in discussions and generation of new ideas. Deanna outlined next steps like expanding use cases of Yammer for frontline staff and leveraging it further for innovation, engagement, and gaining member insights.
