 Most of the recommended
  modifications are included in this
  document with technical corrections to
  provide clarity . . .
 Includes the Middle School
  Acceleration/Algebra 1 component
 SBE voted to adopt this amendment
  but delay the Middle School provision
  until 2012-13
Amendment #2
 Include Students With Disabilities (SWD)
  and English Language Learners (ELL)
  after 1st year in the proficiency
  calculations (ESEA Waiver)
 SBE decided to:
    ◦ Accept the ESEA waiver
    ◦ Create a Task Force to develop an
      implementation plan
    ◦ Negotiate with USDOE
    ◦ Task Force recommendations to SBE

Amendment #3
 Use grade 11 FCAT Science performance
  for the high school grade in 2012
 SBE tabled this recommendation in favor
  of Amendment #4

Amendment #4
 Do not use any science assessment
  results for high school grades in 2012
 SBE voted to adopt this amendment
Amendment #5
   Provide a one-year waiver for the low 25%
    learning gains requirement
    ◦ Current year for schools that earn enough
      points for an A
    ◦ Current or prior year for schools that earn
      enough points for a B or C
   SBE voted to adopt this amendment
Amendment #6
 Beginning in 2012-13, any school with a
  passing grade (D or higher) and fewer
  than 25% of students scoring at or above
  achievement level 3 will have their grade
  lowered by one
 SBE voted to adopt this amendment

  • 7. Amendment #1  Most of the recommended modifications are included in this document with technical corrections to provide clarity . . .  Includes the Middle School Acceleration/Algebra 1 component  SBE voted to adopt this amendment but delay the Middle School provision until 2012-13

Amendment #2  Include Students With Disabilities (SWD) and English Language Learners (ELL) after 1st year in the proficiency calculations (ESEA Waiver)  SBE decided to: ◦ Accept the ESEA waiver ◦ Create a Task Force to develop an implementation plan ◦ Negotiate with USDOE ◦ Task Force recommendations to SBE 3/27/2012
  • 9. Amendment #3  Use grade 11 FCAT Science performance for the high school grade in 2012  SBE tabled this recommendation in favor of Amendment #4 Amendment #4  Do not use any science assessment results for high school grades in 2012  SBE voted to adopt this amendment
  • 10. Amendment #5  Provide a one-year waiver for the low 25% learning gains requirement ◦ Current year for schools that earn enough points for an A ◦ Current or prior year for schools that earn enough points for a B or C  SBE voted to adopt this amendment
  • 11. Amendment #6  Beginning in 2012-13, any school with a passing grade (D or higher) and fewer than 25% of students scoring at or above achievement level 3 will have their grade lowered by one  SBE voted to adopt this amendment
