Meredith Kersten
About: Meredith Kersten serves as Communications Coordinator for the Colorado Children's Immunization
Coalition. Meredith holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from Miami University in Oxford, OH with a
minor in History of Art and Architecture. Her most recent experience includes The Children’s Hospital (CO)
and the Janesville Performing Arts Center (WI), where she discovered a passion for nonprofit
communications, strategic marketing and public relations. Meredith is dedicated to improving Colorado
children’s public health. She is especially enthusiastic about increasing community awareness, engagement

Dawn A Crawford
About: Dawn Crawford is the Social Media Manager for MedThink Communications and was recently the
Communications Director at the Colorado Children’s Immunization Coalition. She has dedicated her career
to healthcare communications and marketing building her skills at hospital systems and health care focused
nonprofit organizations. Dawn has a passion for creating strategic, integrated communications plans with a
special emphasis in harnessing the new technologies of social media. She has a BA in Journalism from the
University of Colorado at Boulder with a minor in Political Science. She lives life loudly and gardens to make
the world a more beautiful place.

Edgar Morales Ednacot
About: Edgar Ednacot, Ed.D, MPH, is the Health Education Supervisor for the Information & Education
Section of the California Dept. of Public Health, Immunization Branch. In addition to Edgar’s work in
immunization, he has developed and implemented successful tobacco control media campaigns for local
and state government. Dr. Ednacot has also been involved with innovative public health campaigns
reaching teens and young adults to address HIV/AIDS, teen pregnancy, and H1N1 prevention. Edgar has a
Masters of Public Health from San Jose State University and a Doctorate of Education from the University
of San Francisco. He is also an adjunct professor at Las Positas College in Livermore, CA teaching health
science courses.

Amanda Goldenberg
About: Amanda came to DC and joined GAVI in October of 2008. She graduated from Duke University with
a major in English and a minor in Biology. During her time at GAVI, she has launched a social media
presence for the GAVI Campaign and now moderates the new Immunize Every Child blog. She also works
on the monthly e-newsletter, Communiqué. Service has always been important to Amanda. In her free
time, Amanda enjoys running, yoga, and spending time at the beach.

Heidi Schlentner Hurst
About: With more than 15 years experience in nonprofit program management and marketing, Heidi
Schlentner Hurst is the regional director for the Northern Nevada Immunization Coalition. Heidi holds a BA
from DePaul University, an MA from Southern Illinois University, as well as advanced training certificates in
Marketing Public Relations and Community Organizing from the Gloria Steinem Leadership Institute and
the DePaul University - Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. In addition to immunizations,
Heidi uses her passion and belief in social media as a communication platform to benefit numerous
nonprofits in the region including Tune In To Kids, YNPN of Northern Nevada and Reno-Tahoe YPN. She has
launched and continues to administer a variety of Twitter and Facebook profiles for these and other
organizations, and regularly blogs about the challenges and rewards of raising a child with ADHD.
