- Thanks for having me come talk to you. I have been writing and using technology since the dawn of the PC era and wanted to give you some expert opinions on how you can make the right personal technology choices for you and your family.
- I have been writing about tech for more than 25 years, and come from an IT background. I blog at strominator.com, and work for these popular publications and websites, including the occaisional article for the NY Times.
- It doesn’t improve with age, just the opposite
- And as you can see here, tech is rapidly changing. The amount of time until 50 million users is rapidly shortening.
- Of course, you can’t be an old far and not realize that you can’t have too many fart apps for your iPhone. At last count there were hundreds of them to be downloaded.
- How to get information
- Miley Cyrus, Sinbad (actor), Sean Connery-- all were declared dead on Wikipedia and at the time were still very much alive
- There is even an entry on Wikipedia that lists hundreds of other examples!
- Buyer beware everything online isn’t true
- All of this appeared on Wikipedia in March 2010 and is completely false!
- You’ll never have as many friends as your teen or 20-something children and grandchildren! Since these screen shots were taken we have each gotten several hundred new friends but Now I still lag 400 or so behind her – I just can’t catch up.
- This is a big fear -- on Facebook you have the option to indicate all sorts of personal things, including your sexuality, your politics, and religion. Some of the answers are pretty whisical, as Buddy Brown is the name of this fellow’s dog. And I am not sure what the Republican Party of the Virgin Islands has to do with anything.
- How to get your news from Twitter
- We have seen the entire spectrum of human existence on Twitter, in this case the wedding
- Another hooked up a Twitter-activated feed every time the baby kicked in utero
- Cancer surgery at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit in Feb 09 -- doctors performed live robotic surgery over the Internet, viewed at a conference in Vegas by 450 professionals and two doctors were tweeting from the OR
- The up to date progress on the Mumbai bombings and terrorist attacks Modovan student demonstrations were organized by Tweets
- http://www.davidhenderson.com/2009/01/21/key-online-influencer/ James Andrews from Ketchum PR flies to Memphis to consult with Fedex on social media
- Dell Tweets special sales on its computers, and has a very active staff that post and keep track of what its customers say on all forms of social media. This is the new gold standard of customer relations today.
- This site has an easy to use form to find out what the best deals are on broadband and TV choices in the area.
