Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter born in 1853 in the Netherlands who taught himself to paint later in life. He moved to Paris in the 1880s to study under newer painters like Monet and Gauguin and began using brighter colors in his work. Van Gogh later moved to Arles, France where he was highly productive, sometimes completing masterpieces in a single day, before committing himself to a mental asylum where he painted Starry Night and eventually died by suicide in 1890.
2. ALBA
Vincent van Gogh was born in 1853 and
grew up in Holland.He was raised in a
religious family with his father being a
minister.
• Vincent left the school when he was 15
years old and he went to England.
3. NEREA
In 1886 he moved to Paris to learn from the
new painters, such as Monet, Degas and
Ganguin.
• During this time van Gogh began to use
brighter colors.
• During this period, he worked as a
missionary, in a coal mining community
livingwith hard working poor common
people.
4. ALEJANDRA
• In 1880 Vincent decided to become a
painter.After several years he completed his
first major work, The Potato Eaters.
• In 1888 van Gogh moved south to Arles,
France.
• He began painting with intensity and
emotion.
• He painted hundreds of pictures, sometimes
painting masterpieces in a single day.
5. • When his school ended, Vincent followed his
uncle’s professions and became an art
dealer learning the trade in Holland and then
working in England and France.
• In 1889 he committed himself to mental
hospital.There he painted one of his most
famous paintings, Starry Night.He died in
1890 from a selfinflicted bullet wound to the
chest.
