the water and floating on the surface of the water at

The Reed Flute Cave is a landmark and tourist attraction
in Guilin, Guangxi, China. It is a natural limestone cave

180 million years old. The cave got its name from the type
of reed growing outside, which can be made into
melodious flutes. Reed Flute Cave is filled with a large
number of stalactites, stalagmites and rock formations in
weird and wonderful shapes. Inside, there are more than 70
inscriptions written in ink, which can be dated back as far
as 792 AD in the Tang Dynasty. These aged inscriptions tell
us that it has been an attraction in Guilin since ancient
times. It was rediscovered in the 1940s by a group of
refugees fleeing the Japanese troops.

Yangshuo County :

Yangshuo County is a county under the jurisdiction
of Guilin City, in the northeast of Guangxi, China. Its
seat is located in Yangshuo Town. Surrounded by karst
peaks and bordered on one side by the Li River it is
easily accessible by bus or by boat from nearby Guilin.
In the 1980s, the town became popular with foreign
backpackers, and by the late 1990s packaged tourists
began arriving in greater numbers. At that time,
domestic tourism represented only a small fraction of
the tourists but by 2005 domestic tourists
outnumbered foreign tourists by a great margin.
Today, the town has become a resort destination for
both domestic and foreign travelers.

The Longsheng Rice Terraces are located in Longsheng
County, about 100 km (2 hours drive) from Guilin, Guangxi,

The terraced fields are built along the slope winding from
the riverside up to the mountain top, between 600 m to
800 m above sea level. The coiling line that starts from the
mountain foot up to the mountain top divides the

shoots in summer, layers of rice in fall, and layers of frost in
winter. The terraced fields were mostly built about 650
years ago.

Terracotta Warriors :

The Terracotta Army or the "Terracotta Warriors and
Horses", is a collection of terracotta sculptures
depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first
Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried
with the emperor in 210–209 BC and whose purpose
was to protect the emperor in his afterlife.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda :

Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a Buddhist pagoda located in southern
Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China. It was built in 652 during the Tang
Dynasty and originally had five stories, although the structure was
rebuilt in 704 during the reign of Empress Wu Zetian and its
exterior brick facade was renovated during the Ming Dynasty. One
of the pagoda's many functions was to hold sutras and figurines of
the Buddha that were brought to China from India by the Buddhist
translator and traveler Xuanzang.

Old City Walls :

Traditionally, the Old City has been divided into four uneven
quarters, although the current designations were introduced only
in the 19th century. Today, the Old City is roughly divided into
the Muslim Quarter, the Christian Quarter, the Jewish Quarter
and the Armenian Quarter. Following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War,
the Old City was captured by Jordan and Jewish residents were
evicted. During the Six-Day War in 1967, which saw hand-to-
hand fighting on the Temple Mount, Israel captured the Old City
along with the rest of East Jerusalem, subsequently annexing
them as Israeli territory and reuniting them with the western
part of the city. Today, Israel controls the entire area, which it
considers part of its national capital. In 2010, Jerusalem's oldest
fragment of writing was found outside the Old City's walls. The
Jerusalem Law of 1980, effectively annexing East Jerusalem to
Israel, was declared null and void by UN Security Council
Resolution 478 and East Jerusalem is regarded by the
international community as part of occupied Palestinian
territory.

Mt. Huashan :

Mount Hua, or Hua Shan or Xiyue is a mountain
located near the city of Huayin in Shaanxi province,
about 120 kilometres (75 mi) west of Xi'an. It is one of
China's Five Great Mountains, and has a long history
of religious significance. Originally classified as having
three peaks, in modern times the mountain is
classified as five main peaks, of which the highest is
the South Peak at 2,154.9 metres (7,070 ft).

Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady is a medieval
Islamic mosque that was converted into a Catholic

The Bund :

The Bund, also called Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu (East
Zhongshan 1st Road), is a famous waterfront and

Buddha statues imported to Shanghai from Burma by
sea. These were a sitting Buddha, and a smaller
reclining Buddha representing Buddha's death. The
temple now also contains a much larger reclining
Buddha made of marble, donated from Singapore, and

original, smaller piece.

Nanjing Lu Road is the main shopping street of
