PCMs (phase change materials) undergo solid-liquid and liquid-solid phase changes at consistent temperatures, absorbing or releasing large amounts of heat during these changes. ThermaCool produces wall and ceiling products containing PCMs that provide thermal mass and regulate internal temperatures, reducing energy demands. Their products offer affordable, easy-to-install solutions that save energy and carbon for buildings.
2. A phase change
for the better
PCMs (phase change materials) are materials that undergo a phase change transition
from solid to liquid and liquid to solid to absorb or release large amounts of latent
heat at a relatively constant temperature.
ThermaCool® has harnessed the natural process of phase change and developed a bespoke
range of wall and ceiling products, giving both thermal mass to lightweight structures and
also significantly reducing the energy demand of climate control systems.
For use in both new build construction and retrofit of commercial and residential buildings,
ThermaCool® products manage internal temperatures more effectively and efficiently to
provide a comfortable working temperature throughout the day.
Our products offer competitively priced,
easy to install solutions that yield significant
energy & carbon savings for your building.

The large heat exchanger surface
of the capillary structure provides
a high thermal performance.
GeoBlue™ System Components
GEO1 heating and cooling controller
An innovative regulator measuring both temperature
and humidity, simultaneously controlling the heat and
cold generator.
Stations
Stations are installed following a review of application
conditions, space and temperatures. All components
are manufactured from corrosive resistant materials.
Inlet pipe and dissipator
Made of polypropylene, brass pieces and EPDM
sealant, all components come with a 5 year guarantee.
Powersave
Exceptionally robust, reinforced capillary tube matts.
Superfast
Adapt to virtually any surface, rapidly exchanging
heat or cold.
The superior radiant heating & cooling system
Using the latest capillary tube technology, GeoBlue™ is
a radiant heating and cooling system, offering excellent
energy efficiency and the highest levels of comfort.
GeoBlue™ Radiant Heating & Cooling works on the principle
that thermal comfort is determined not only by temperature
of the air around you but a combination of ambient air and
heat being radiated to or from objects nearby.
Manufactured using the latest technology, GeoBlue™
holds a 15 year guarantee and comes with our 100%
quality assurance.

For heating and cooling
Radiant heating and cooling can be a very cost effective means of
heating and cooling commercial buildings and could save significant
energy in the commercial building sector, increasing occupant comfort,
indoor air quality and increased productivity. A Radiant cooling system
works on the same principle as radiant heating. GeoBlue™ uses the
same system of capillary tubing for both heating and cooling.
Installation
GeoBlue™ is installed on to an MF ceiling system with the ThermaCool®
Panel comprising of phase change material and expanded graphite
to improve its thermal conductivity performance. The heating and
cooling mats are laid parallel as this way the heating and cooling water
is evenly distributed to maximise the specific heat exchanging surface.
GeoBlue™ heating reaches a very high performance with temperatures
of heating water between 24°C – 30°C and efficient temperatures of
cooling water of between 17°C to 19°C.
Each project is individually planned and individually produced
according to the project requirements.
Innovative thermostat control
GeoBlue™ is regulated by an intuitive controller, GEO1, which
measures both temperature and humidity, thus continually
determining the dew-point temperature. Incorporating a DSL
connection, all data can be read, edited and managed remotely.

Phase Change Technology in a tile
Our range of preformed natural mineral tiles contain a
microencapsulated phase change material. When installed as either
a replacement for existing tiles in a retrofit project or as a complete
new system using ThermaCool® Profiles for new build construction,
they provide a thermal mass solution as well as thermal comfort
through passive cooling.
Suspended ceiling integration
ThermaCool™ ceiling tiles are installed in to a conventional suspended
ceiling system. Heat from people, lighting, small power items etc is
absorbed and stored by the tiles over a defined temperature that is
within the human comfort range. This heat is later released as the
room temperature cools, giving the building lightweight thermal mass.
Three tiles – three unique benefits
Available for three applications, with a square
or tegular edge profile.
Light Textured
A preformed tile for a 600x600mm module,
fitted with a suspended T-grid for easy
installation.
Acoustic
A preformed perforated tile for a 600x600m
module, with improved acoustic performance
of 54.2dBA and Class C sound absorption.
Metal Composite
A patented composite tile where increased
thermal and acoustic performance and
aesthetic finish is required.
Comfort and well being
ThermaCool® panels incorporate the latest
phase change material to provide a complete
construction board for lightweight wall
and ceiling systems that enhances both
the thermal comfort and indoor air quality
of a room.
Manufactured from abundant natural minerals,
ThermaCool® panels do not harvest the growth
of mould and mildew and due to its hygroscopic
performance, will absorb and release moisture
from the surrounding environment, improving
the occupants well being.

Innovative thermal technology in a wall panel
Our ThermaCool® panel incorporates phase change material to
provide a complete construction board for light weight systems
that absorb, store and release excess latent heat from within
the building, as well as stabilising the moisture content within
the room. The ThermaCool® panel offers an easy to install,
cost effective and lightweight thermal mass solution.
How the panel works
In buildings where the thermal mass benefits from the building
fabric is lost due to improved insulation and airtightness
measures, or in steel or timber structures which have little or
no thermal mass performance, the ThermaCool® panel offers
an easy to install, cost effective and lightweight thermal
mass solution.
Incorporating the ThermaCool® panels into a project is just
one part of a total system approach whereby the design of
a ventilation solution and purging strategy is vital to optimise
the benefits of the phase change material within the panel.
