Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga, Spain in 1881 and was admitted to the Royal Academy of Art in Barcelona at a young age. He is considered one of the most influential artists of the 20th century and was a pioneering artist of the Cubist movement. Some of Picasso's most famous works include Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, which helped usher in Cubism, and Guernica, painted after the bombing of Guernica, Spain. Throughout his career, Picasso worked in various mediums beyond painting such as sculpture and mixed media.
