Double Page Spread Analysis
Title Logo Columns
Images Main text
This double page spread is from NME magazine and is about a recent tour that NME have been
doing recently. The magazine has then done a mini-interview with four of the artists that have taken
part in the tour, they then get asked a question each and their answers are shown also on the
double page spread. Throughout the article the event s made to seem spectacular so that the
audience reading the magazine would have wished that they had gone to it or if there are people
reading that did go then it reminds them of how good it was. Plus it was NME’s own tour so it is
probably likely to be slightly bias.
The double page spread itself is laid out pretty simply with not too much going on, on either page so
that it becomes crowded. The left hand page is just split into four quarters with an image of each
artist from off the tour, in each quarter, then at the top of the page it has the title of the article.
Then on the right hand page, at the top it has a sub-title and the logo that they used for the tour just
too emphasize what the double page spread is about. Then the main text in the article goes down in
columns which makes it easy for the reader to understand and follow. Also it has little sub-headings
above every paragraph to tell the reader the question that the artists have been asked, the
questions are in a different colour to the main text so that they stand out and are easy for the reader
to distinguish. Then down the right hand side there is a column that has some facts about the history
of the tour. These are usually interesting facts that the reader will find intriguing and maybe
2. amusing, they are just for the readers entertainment which they can read if they feel they want to
and they aren’t the main focus of the article.
