7. Isotonic Capable Delivery – What is
isotonic?
“iso” = same, “tonic” = pressure or tone; same
fluid pressure or tone of the body (i.e. tears, plasma,
lymph and other body fluids)
Isotonicity allows fluids to move easily
through small intestinal membranes
