The patterns for these garments were inspired by the Ankh – an important religious symbol to the Nubian people. This was coupled with designs inspired by small, colorful gems frequently used to decorate around the eyes of Nubian women for special occasions.
The patterns for these garments were inspired by the ram – a deity in the Nubian culture. The pattern is reflective of a statue which depicts a ram centered between two wings, which do not appear to be attached to the animal.
The patterns for these garments were inspired again by the ram, but focus exclusively on the powerful, curved horns of the animal. The horns are made into an abstracted, intertwining pattern which is both spiritually and aesthetically pleasing.
