Spanish Language Programs for Teens in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica
Teen Spanish Programs - High School Spanish Programs Abroad
                       Manuel Antonio - Costa Rica

Overview
Each summer the Academia de Español D’Amore Spanish Immersion Center sets up
a Teen Spanish language program in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Located adjacent
to the Manuel Antonio National Park, the program is ideal due to the fact that the
town is both safe and provides a complete Spanish immersion environment.

Over the years we feel the Costa Rica has
proven itself to be one of the best countries to
offer a Teen Spanish language program in.
Costa Rica is safe, the Spanish language is
clear and easy to learn, and the country
offers a vast array of outdoor activities to do.

Teens (high school students) that come to
Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica to study and
learn Spanish will find a city surrounded by
rainforest and beach, a perfect environment
in which to study and learn Spanish in. Students hear very little English and have
plenty of opportunity to practice the Spanish that are learning in the Spanish class.

Academia de Español D’Amore hosts the Costa Rica Teen Spanish Program in the
Manuel Antonio area. Host families are located within a short distance to the bus
station in Quepos and 15 minutes bus ride to the Spanish language school. Typically
the teens participating in the Spanish program are hosted in families near around the
bus station; compose by mother, father and sons, with vast experience hosting
teenagers.

completely in Spanish using our books based in the Communicative Approach
Learning process. Creating an environment where they study and learn and speak in
Spanish, the teens will quickly acquire the Spanish language. Each Spanish class
has a maximum of 5 teens. The reason the groups in the Teen Spanish Program are
kept small is that the Spanish school in Academia D’Amore wants to make sure each
high school student gets a very
                                             personalized and interactive experience.

Outside of class, during free time during
the weekends, the high school students
in the Teen Spanish Program will

of the time host families participate with

Costa Rica Teen Spanish Program Supervision
The Teen Spanish Program has a level of adult supervision that can be classified as
MODERATE. Your teen is expected to mature enough to follow our Rules.
Additionally the teen must be able to follow directions from the Teen Program
Director or any other staff of the school and
the host family. The host families used for
the Teen Spanish Program are selected due
to proximity to the Spanish school as well as
their ability to accommodate the specific
needs and attention of the teens in the Teen
                                     Spanish Program.

The high school students will be supervised
while at the school, in the homestay, and
during activities and excursions. They are
not supervised walking to and from the
school. Additionally there are times when classes are not in session and before or
after an excursion when there is free time and the students are unsupervised. This is
why we require your teen to have an exceptional level of maturity. If you have any
doubts about the maturity level of your teen, then this program is not for your teen.

Excursions are offered wither in the free time or during the weekends. As a reinforcement of this Teen Spanish Immersion Program, we also offer free classes that incorporate the interaction of our students with Costa Rican culture. These classes are more than just a bit of fun. Rather, they are another unique and memorable way to further one's Spanish skills: Latin Dance Classes (Salsa, Merengue, and Cumbia): Here you will learn how to dance Salsa, Merengue and Cumbia in a fun and entertaining way. You will learn the origin and history of these dances as well as vocabulary of the human body. Working from the very basic steps to the most artistic pirouettes, you will feel the rhythm of Latin music while moving your body in a healthy and relaxing way. You can practice what you have learned with "ticos and ticas" in the various dancing locales of Manuel Antonio, and Quepos. You will make friends and improve your Spanish while dancing the night away. Tropical Fruit Classes: Here you will learn the names of some of the most unique and delicious fruits in the world. Chances are you will experience the flavor of fruit you have never seen before. As a hidden bonus, you will learn vocabulary regarding shapes, sizes, colors and more. Latin Music Classes: Music and lyrics are one of the most productive strategies to learn Spanish and the culture that is behind it. You will strengthen your listening comprehension skills, grammar patterns, and increase your vocabulary while enjoying some of the most popular Latin American and Spanish singers. Listen, learn, and sing with the most beautiful songs of love, life, and passion. We invite you to bring your musical instruments and play, while singing songs that will captivate your heart and enhance your love for Costa Rican and Latin American culture and folklore. Surf Lessons also can be organized to those who are interested in. • 5. Costa Rica Teen Spanish Program Supervision The Teen Spanish Program has a level of adult supervision that can be classified as MODERATE. Your teen is expected to mature enough to follow our Rules. Additionally the teen must be able to follow directions from the Teen Program Director or any other staff of the school and the host family. The host families used for the Teen Spanish Program are selected due to proximity to the Spanish school as well as their ability to accommodate the specific needs and attention of the teens in the Teen Spanish Program. The high school students will be supervised while at the school, in the homestay, and during activities and excursions. They are not supervised walking to and from the school. Additionally there are times when classes are not in session and before or after an excursion when there is free time and the students are unsupervised. This is why we require your teen to have an exceptional level of maturity. If you have any doubts about the maturity level of your teen, then this program is not for your teen.
