2. Evaluation Question number 1
1) In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
My Magazine Cover, contents page
and double page spread use the My Masthead is another original convention of media product.
typical conventions of other real The Name and style of the magazines are very important. It draws the reader in and lets

I think the two fonts fitted perfectly as
‘’Arial’’ in bold looks quite good and
it’s easy to read.
To the front cover, I added a barcode,
price and date as that’s why all magazines
have and it’s vital information that the
reader need to know and the front
Cover would look out of place if it didn’t
Feature them.

2) How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My Magazine uses diffrent The social class is not prominent in my media

a star in the hip hop scene.
4. Evaluation Question Number 3
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your product and why?
An Institution that deals with the magazine
publishing would distribute my product. Another
magazine that deals with a similar genre to mine
would be more likely to publish my magazine.
The most likely company to publish my magazine
would be IPC Media (www.ipcmedia.com) as
they produce over 85 magazines ranging from
NME to Q Magazine. And their magazines reach
almost 27 million UK adults every month. My
magazine’s genre is completely different to
everything else the company sells so I think they
would consider to publish my magazine and
distribute it all over the UK. It could make them a
responsible amount of money.
5. Evaluation Question Number 4
4. Who would be Audience for your media product?
I’ve briefly outlined the audience for my media
product in question two but I will go into more My Product uses quite conventional
detail. My target audience will range from 18- media product techniques. I’ve
25 both men and women. The Audience love featured male icons that

magazine specialties in. Their social class men want to be and women

On my blog I have composed a post
called ‘’My target Audience’’ I feel my
magazine relates straight back to whom
I have talked about. Also I added polls
to my page and catered for the
answers too.
6. Evaluation Question Number 5
5. How did you attract/address your Audience?
I attracted my audience in many ways. Colour
themes, simplicity. The bands featured the
pictures taken. The overall appearence of my
magazine. I concentrated very carefully on who I
was making the magazine for.
The Language I used was appropriate to attract
my target audience and the question I asked in
the double page spread were interesting and the
language appealed to ‘’The Punisher’’ youth of
the UK.
7. Evaluation Question Number 6
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this
product?
In the process of constructing my media
product, I learnt in depth technologies.
Those include, taking photos with an
Iphone camera, uploading and editing
those pictures and most importantly I
mastered how to use Adobe Photoshop
Elements on the laptop, which were a challenge
to use in themselves as I’m used to a windows
computer.
Firstly I came the editing stage. I practised
editing photos of my self that I tooked through
Laptop. I’ve talked about editing photos on my
blog quite alot. I wanted to make the colour
very drained and lowered the hue so they
looked almost black and white, I whink that
effect makes them look a bit ill which was kind
of the look I was going for!!
8. Evaluation Question Number 7
7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to the full product?
I feel like I have better knowledge of something that looks professional, a better understanding of the main
conventions of magazines. And I can use PhotoShop to a much greater extent! I’ve learnt that colour
schemes really matter. On my preliminary task cover, you can barely read the wiriting, the pictures are not
neat or particullary relevant. No market research was done so I knew who to aim the magazine at. My
preliminary task was a disaster I think it’s fair to say! I can use photoshop, I understand all the layers and
how to adjust diffrent things, import other JPGs etc. The convetions of media product are now more clear to
me. Looking at other magazine similar to mine such as NME and Kerrang! I understand what the reader
wants, how to draw peopele in and make things look intresting. I’ve learnt a lot making this media product!
