2. Online Papers of Pakistan
Advertising in KPK
Online papers have taken ground
around the world but PCP has not yet
defined registration procedure and
government advertisement rates for
e-papers of Pakistan.
Government departments in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa must be asked to
appoint at least 3 advertising
agencies for one or two years. Ad
agencies renewal must be
conditional to satisfactory
performance.
3. Press in FATA
Development Journalism
Press Council of Pakistan is
committed for development of print
media in FATA to form public opinion
for democracy and generate
employment opportunities for youth
of FATA.
Positive reporting of development
projects in far flung areas must be
promoted. PCP is aware of
significance of development
journalism.
4. Libel Cases
New Name
Complaints have been published as
news items but we don’t find
compensation for affectees of
scandals and slanders.
Professionals and people want PCP
to be renamed as Media Council of
Pakistan because existing name
confines its role.
5. Discussion
Q: Should there be separate councils
for Out Door Media and Online
Media in Pakistan?
A: No, PCP must rename its name and
jurisdiction to cut costs.
Q: Is Development Journalism
growing in Pakistan?
A: PCP must conduct workshops
throughout the country for raising
awareness about Positive
Journalism.
