Effective application of hyperbranched polyester resin in
the coatings.
• (1) hyperbranched polyester application in high-solids content coating.
• Compact molecular structure, three-dimensional spherical structure, not easy
to tangle between moleculars, compared with same molecular weight linear
polymers, its solution has low viscosity at a higher solids content. (2)
hyperbranched polyester application in the UV curable coating. Introducing
hyperbranched polymer into the UV curing system, can overcome some of
the disadvantages of linear oligomers, such as severe shrinkage of film,
diluent volatilizing, toxicity, etc.
• Thermosetting hyperbranched polyester with hydroxyl end groups, can control
the crosslink density through the introduction of non-active/reactive end
group. Light-curing coatings with acrylated polyesters, without adding
photoinitiator, at a low intensity of UV irradiation, can cure film, and the film
hardness, resistance to acetone, scratch resistance is good.

Hyperbranched polyester is widely used in the field of
coatings.
• Hyperbranched polyesters can be widely used in coatings, either as
direct additives, curing agent or as a coating material, have shown
superior property compared with conventional additives .
Hyperbranched polyester with double bonds nidified in the UV-
curable coatings has outstanding performance. Such as for flexible
material, showing excellent resistance to oxygen permeability, the
PET and PP were increased resistance to oxygen permeability of 2.3
times and 15 times, in addition, it conglutinates well with the PET and

Films made from PAMAM are a novel and efficient cell
anode catalyst for methanol fuel.

Hyperbranched polyester can significantly improve the
many performance of PET processing.
• (1) hyperbranched polymer has greater impact on
rheological performance of PET, when HBPE-OH addition
level is 0.5%, the torsion decreases by 60%, in 10% of the
added amount can decrease by 77%; (2) HBPE/PET
mixing system has good thermal stability to meet the
general using conditions and under the high temperature
processing, PET will not degrade though with hydroxyl
terminal groups; (3) Through SEM, it proves that HBPE-
OH can bring brittle-ductile transition to PET material.

dyeing and finishing industry.
• Hyperbranched polymer characteristics: (1) the precise molecular structure;
(2) a high degree of geometric symmetry; (3) a large number of functional
groups; (4) cavity in the molecule; (5) relative molecular mass controllable; (6)
nanometer size molecule. These characteristics determine the physical and
