In the past we used to use fossil fuels to generate electricity, burning coal in power plants. In Singapore, we use natural gas produced from natural gas plants to generate our electricity. The world, being more environmentally friendly, decides to explore options of renewable energy such as solar, wind, hydro(water) energy as well as the recent radiation leak in Japan, – nuclear energy.Recently, I’ve read about hybrid power plants and hybrid solar system, which is new to me and I would like to share with you.3 different technologies SolarWater & Methanol (Water is easily available and Methanol is cheap & produced with minimal waste) – This chemical reaction will results synthesis reaction, in resulting hydrogen Hydrogen – cleaner gas but dangerous as it may be explosive

Although it seems like a traditional solar collector system, that you see around in private housings but it is actually quite complicated as explained in the previous slides. Highly efficiency as compared to our conventional solar system which has 5 – 15 % whereas, this system can give a higher efficiency of 28.5% in the summer and also in winter 2.5 – 5% in terms of quantity of energy in kilowatts
It is definitely more efficient than the natural gas plants or fossil fuel plants that generate electricity to our homes.

Why I pick this article because it is interesting and a new concept of how renewable energy works in favour and how we make hybrids of renewable energy to our advantage. Environmental Friendly.Also because I would like to see how renewable energy can help families to save cost in electricity since it is easily available.
