2. Who is ULT?
ULT is a Fluorescent Ballast Manufacturer that
will warranty their ballasts for 6 years from store
opening date.
ULT should be contacted if 5 or more of their
fluorescent fixtures are not working.
Please be sure to check all lamps in fixture first!
ULT does not cover:
Halogen Lamps or Spot Lights
Socket, Sensor, or Electrical Issues
Jewelry Cases/Beauty Banks
3. What is a Ballast?
A ballast is a device that
regulates power to a
fluorescent lighting
fixture.
If a ballast goes out (or is
defective) the lamps will
no longer have power.
A good indication of a
bad ballast is a fixture
with all lamps dark…
However, all lamps
should be checked first to
be sure.
5. Differences between Lamps
T8 Lamps are larger and
usually are found all
throughout the store
from the sales floor to
cornice lighting to
stockrooms.
T5 Lamps are thinner
and more energy
efficient. These are
usually found in newer
stores (2007+) near
displays, customer
service, and some
restrooms.
The “T” signifies the
diameter in 1/8ths of an
inch.
T8 = 8/8ths (1” diam.)
(1”
ths (.625” diam.)
T5 = 5/8 (.625”
