called the Appalachian Mountains. The seven
chief ranges are the following: Green Mountains,
White Mountains, Catskills, Adirondacks,

Mountains.
 Mammoth Cave’s main distinction is that it is the
largest known underground cave system
 The Piedmont Plateau lies between the
Appalachians and the Atlantic coastal plain.
 The Tidewater region are affected by the Atlantic’s
tides.

heavy restrictions are now preventing it.
