O During the 1920s, the moral code of the
United States was changing; younger
generations were rebelling through music,
dance, fashion, smoking, and sex. This
rebellion would snowball into a revolution
that would effect America for years to
come.
3. Section 3 Thesis
O During the 1920s, the changes in the
overall image of women were centered on
the emergence of a new American
feminine ideal. Women were moving away
from The Cult of True Womanhood and
towards independence from men.
