Comenius Project
Transversal Competences – Today´s Solution for Tomorrow´s
Jobs
What can I say about Comenius project? It was one of the best decisions which I made in my
life. It was a very good experience. I think my English is better than before. I learnt to
communicate with people in my age. Those guys were on the same level of English like me
and we could learn from each other. Except of Polish students, who were on higher level of
English than us because they’re studying at private school and most of school subject are
taught in English there.
The first contact with Comenius members was via the Internet – the Moodle. Later on thanks
to Facebook and e-mails which helped us to be in touch with our future friends. We could ask
them what is their country like and what we could expect from them. If they’re friendly, what
their names were and something about their interests.
Our first meeting was in Italy in city called Padova. It’s a city near Verona. There we first met
in our project - workmates face to face. It was very exciting to see and talk with this people
from Poland, Turkey and Italy in person and not just via the Internet. I think that this first
meeting in Italy was important for entire project because we were learning how to work in
team with people from other parts of Europe and made very good friendship with them.
In school of Padova each country presented their school and school system of country they
came from. We also devised logo for Comenius project and motto. Big thanks to our new
friends from Italy. Thanks them we know little bit more about their culture and local sights.

The second meeting was in our homeland - Czech Republic. There each country presented
their most famous people from the past. After that we showed our friends museum of Jan
Amos Komenský in Uherský Brod and lots of local sights.
In my opinion all this project was amazing idea. I learnt so much about English, team work
and about long distance friendship. In these days I’m still in touch with my friends from Italy,
Turkey, Poland. I’m so grateful that I had this opportunity to be part of my biggest life
experience. Thanks to this project I improved my English and made lots of friends. This is the
funniest way how to improve your English if ordinary lessons are boring for you.
