Comenius 2013
Our adventure in this project started many weeks before travel to Turkey. We had lot
of work to do for example our work on imaginary travel company, volunteering in preschool
and we had to learn Italian dance and song. But all of this was just little price for that what
waited for us.
When I saw Istanbul for the first time from a plane, I was just shocked from that huge
city. After that we landed and we started to acquaint with this huge, amazing and beautiful
country. In next few hours we reached the school, where our hosts were waiting for us. I was
a guest at Kaan´s and his sister Büilge and of course their family. Being with them was one of
the most powerful and incredible experiences. They welcomed me with ,,open armful“ and
they tried to give me everything what I needed even that that I didn´t need anything. First
day in Turkish school was ,,cognitive“ day. We played cognitive games and we were in
Turkish classes. After official program we went to the one of the most famous pubs in
Istanbul called Yellow taxi. We had reservation for almost fifty people and we tried Turkish
food and drinks.
On second day in Turkey we visited few monuments of Istanbul, we saw miniature
land, some squares, technical museum etc. Wednesday was one of the most important days
of Comenius. We had to presente our fictional companies and rated companies of others
groups, then we went to some primary school where we presented our songs and dances
(everybody said we had best song!). After the presentation of our ,,art“ director announced
results of fictional companies, there is just one thing what I want to say: ‘We weren’t the
worst!’ After this school program whole Comenius group went to the part of Istanbul known

as bull square, where we had about two hours for some shopping etc. After that we met
each other again at Yellow taxi.
On Thursday we went to famous street, where were many shops and we knew that it was
the last night, when we were together. Friday was the second day of sight seeing, we were in
sultan palace, cistern (which is old Greek reservoir of water for Istanbul in case of war). When
we saw all monuments, which were on the list, we went to the oldest Istanbul markets,
where we were able to buy some present home. After the whole day ,,on feet“ we went
back to the school and in bus we talked about tongue twisters in other languages, by the
way Italian’s won. When we reached the school, we had one of the saddest moments in
Turkey, we had to say good bye to our friends. We made a lots of photos and memories.
After that I went to my guest’s home with Kaan and Büilge, but they took me to the
traditional Turkey meals after dinner we went home, where I had to say good bye to my host
family and my guests Kaan and Büilge. I gave them some presents like Czech beer, chocolate
and some scarf to Büilge. Next morning we left our Turkish school and went to the airport
and left Turkey.
This project and this journey to Turkey was one of the best moments in my entire live. I
made lots of Italian, Turkish and Polish friends and many great experiences and of course I
improved my English, which was probably main reason of this project. And if it’ll be possible I
want to visit Turkey next year, to see my Turkish friends.
