In order to stay consistent with the core values of Project H and Alemany Farm, we knew we wanted to create a business model that would allow anyone to use our plans to build their own compost shredder. The central idea of our business model is to enable an urban organic farmer to easily and freely build one of our compost shredders. We attempt to achieve this by creating a website where we share the instructions on how to build one as well as provide a means for people to distribute the necessary parts. It would be similar to a Craigslist, except there is no option for negotiating a price on our website and our hopes is that their goodwill is enough incentive to give others a necessary part. Along with this method of collecting the necessary parts, we’ll also provide affiliate network links on our website so that users can purchase the necessary parts if needed. This will also generate a small bit of revenue. Another source of revenue comes from a small list of target ads on various places on our website.
