3. Advantage of Hydroelectric Energy Not dependent on fossil fuel such as oil, natural gas, and coal. Hydroelectric generators have longer functional life than fuel fired generators. Renewable - dependent on the continuous water cycle. Reduced carbon emissions. Global accessibility. Low operation and maintenance costs.

4. Disadvantages They disturb natural flow of rivers. Create holes beneath the dam where the water falls. Smaller modules depend on the fast flowing rivers. Can impact the mobility of fish and other wild life. High investment costs Changes in water quality

5. The Future of Hydroelectricity in the United States I believe the U.S. will create more hydroelectricity dams because the U.S. wants to become less dependent on foreign oil and less oil drilling means fewer oil spills.

6. The future of hydroelectricity around the World I believe that the world will become more hydroelectric dependent. World hydroelectricity production progressed, in the 10 years between 1995 and 2005, by 18%.
