From the very beginning, Dynastar’s home has been at the foot of Mont Blanc
and Chamonix has naturally become the company’s base camp. Today, we

ming of fresh snow, smiling in anticipation of the big day. Physically and
mentally, all your senses are in a state of heightened awareness. Your eyes
are sparkling, your hearing is alert to the slightest signs announcing an
imminent departure, your sense of smell is sharper, your sensation of touch
more finely attuned, you’re eager for the adventure to begin. It’s time to set

Dawn is only just breaking. The door of the hut slams shut. Head torch on, skins adjusted
under skis, ARVA switched on, ropes safely packed in the backpack. Everything is rea-
dy. A last drip of tea escapes from a burning hot flask. In less than three hours, they
will be at the summit. Their goal is clear. Making the first tracks. The first light of day
slices through a breathtaking panorama. The pace has been steady since this morning,
but as they approach the dizzyingly high and long ridge, their steps start to slow. They
have time to observe, over there, on the right, gullies that appear almost familiar, skied
before on many occasions, explored with painstaking care. There’s just one to go. A little
apart from the others, majestic, with a line weaving down through the rocks. The snow
conditions are ideal, a thin layer of powder is still in place thanks to the temperatures
over the last few days, visibility is perfect, the gully is just waiting for the first tracks...

accessible carving capacity for technical skiers. It features a slight front rocker, allowing
easier turn initiation and a more playful approach to the slope. The remainder of the ski
consists of a traditional camber to create an explosion of power, stability and grip, for a

design and a new style for the 2014 winter season. Thanks to its 25-liter capacity, you will easily be able to carry all the equipment you
need for freeriding or hiking. Its countless external pockets provide storage and easy access for your shovel, probe and ice ax, or even your
goggles and camera. This intuitive hi-tech bag also features compression straps and can be used to carry skis. The ergonomic shoulder
straps and the waist belt have been redesigned for even greater comfort, functionality and performance. The back of the bag has also been
taken back to the drawing board to maximize ventilation and comfort, and make carrying even more effective.

Since 1963, the legendary site of the Chamonix-Mont Blanc Valley has forged
Dynastar’s identity and shaped the personality of its products: technical
and high-performance skis for committed and passionate skiers. With its
outstanding open-air laboratory, cutting-edge factory, the only production site
for skis in France, in 2012 Dynastar was rewarded with an official label for its
products which are now certified « Guaranteed Made in France ».
Dynastar and Chamonix are embarking on a new chapter
in their history.
For 50 years, Chamonix and Dynastar have shared the same history, the
same passion for the mountains and playgrounds. Together with the Rossignol
group, they are now writing a new chapter.
Chamonix, the ultimate outdoor laboratory at the foot of Mont Blanc, is an
inexhaustible source of inspiration for Dynastar. ‘‘This is where you can find

Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix is a prestigious institution that has

Dynastar and Rossignol are official sponsors of Kandahar, a legendary stage in
the Alpine Skiing World Cup and the only men’s downhill event on the French

École Nationale de Ski et d’Alpinisme
The ENS A is the only training organization in France for ski instructors

Glossary
Moderate rocker at the tip only. For easier
pivoting on flat skis with a smooth and forgiving
feel in the turns. The rise is designed so that once
the ski is on its edge, the ski works in the turn
providing full-length edge contact.
A rocker that’s very progressive in the tip,
with limited length and height, and even less
pronounced in the tail. This ski pivots more easily
but retains all its grip and carving performance.
The rocker also improves tip flotation on varied
terrain and powder, making it a decisive plus for
All Mountain skiing.
Traditional sandwich technology with wood core and
two titanal layers that provide excellent stability
on turns and greatly reduce torsional effects. The
power is provided by two layers of fiberglass whose
basic weight varies depending on the model and
the desired skiability. The double melamine/phenol
sidewalls provide flexibility and power according to
the skier’s needs in the different phases of the turn.
The heart of the ski consists of a wood core
together with fiberglass. This gives the ski
enormous fluidity and responsiveness. The
absence of metal sheets reduces the weight
significantly.

fiberglass core to make the ski lighter, more

The combination of a 5 point sidecut, extra long
tip rocker, traditional camber underfoot and
narrower «pin-tail» produces the reliability and

A unique design for all-mountain skis, the
powertrack profile is inspired by the 5-point
sidecut of the Levitation Profile together with a tip
and tail rocker. The skis deliver top performance
on piste as well as being incredibly easy to handle
off piste.
A blend of wood and acrylic (Rohacell) in the
construction makes the Alti range lightweight,
tough and high-performing in descents.
The Paulownia wood core reduces the weight of
the skis by 25%. Dynastar combines this wood
with fibers developed by the race department to
guarantee optimal skiability and performance.
Part of the core, at the waist of the ski, is made
from poplar to provide excellent grip, and part of
the core is made from paulownia to lighten the
ski tip and allow easier turn initiation.
The heart of the ski consists of a poplar core
together with fiberglass. This gives the ski
enormous fluidity and responsiveness. Poplar
helps to maintain the ski’s lively feel throughout
its life.
The high density multicell core can be combined
with a number of materials, such as fibreglass or
titanal. Advantages:

The polyurethane is injected in a mould with
layers of glass and steel fibre.

In partnership with POMOCA, Dynastar produces
high-performance, resistant and easy to use skins
cut to the shape of the ski.
The Alti Skin has a special grip at the tip that
integrates perfectly with the design of the ski and
helps to center the skin more easily. Supported
by POMOCA’s production quality, the Alti Skin is
an uncompromising climbing skin for use in all
conditions.
The use of a wood core machined with varying
thickness and stacked fibre layers of varying
lengths delivers extraordinary flex. This gives the
ski awesome energy for jumping (pop) and great
shock absorption when landing.
Strong points: This technology, combined with
specific sidecuts, offers the ideal mix for freestyle
in both park & pipe and backcountry.
The WC Spring Blade uses varying shapes of
metal and fiberglass laminates at staggered
lengths to provide a lighter extremity. The
unique layered shapes control tip torsion which
smoothes out turn initiation and improves full
edge contact. The lighter weight tip improves the
swing weight of the ski for quick and adaptable
turn initiation.
Working with guides and riders in Chamonix to
develop our skis is an integral part of Dynastar’s
DNA. Producing our skis in the Chamonix valley
was an obvious choice. It is also a guarantee of
quality and control over production processes.
