The mission of the Redwood Falls Parks and Recreation Department is to provide quality facilities and pro-
grams for all. Quality Parks and Recreation Programming enhances economic development, community crime
prevention, and adds to the quality of life for ALL residents and visitors of the community.
We would like to achieve a “community climate” of personal wellness, and mutual respect. Community facilities
and parks are used by citizens of all ages participating in meaningful recreation activities. Facilities are well cared
for due to a systematic plan for immediate care and crucial long-term maintenance. All citizens will be welcomed
and encouraged to utilize the park system and participate in the City Recreation programs.

Youth Ride Passes
Community Transit of Western Community
Action is again offering a $30 unlimited monthly
ride coupon for students up to 18 years old during
the monthsofJune,JulyandAugust.These coupons
can be purchased through the Western Community Action office in Marshall.
Just $30 per month, per student provides the peace of mind that kids arrive
safely at all their summer activities, and relieves some of the stress of
keeping up with busy summer schedules. Ride coupons are good for
students to ride as often as they want during the the month on all
Community Transit buses. Rides must be prescheduled by calling
between 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. For more

Indoor Playground Rules
• No shoes allowed; socks must be worn at all times
• Playground for children ages 7 & Under,
supervisors are allowed on playground
• Any children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult (ages
18 & over). While the adult (ages 18 and over) is in the facility they are
allowed to have a “babysitter” ages 12 & over watch their children in the
playground. If the adult (ages 18 & over) leaves the facility the children
under the age of 7 must leave the facility as well.
• Water bottles allowed. NO other food or beverages permitted
• Please report all accidents/concerns to RACC staff immediately
• All users must check in at the RACC customer service desk
• RACC is not responsible for lost or stolen items

RACC Assessments
Each assessment
will take approximately 1-hour
and must be scheduled in advance.
Any cancellations made less than 24 hours
before the appointment will be charged a $20 fee.
Personal Trainer
Fitness Assessment Packages
Marathon Package • $100/Session Non-Members & $90/Session Members
The Marathon Package will include the following tests: Body Composition, Strength,
Flexibility, Height, Weight, and Cardiovascular. The package is for 6-months,
being assessed on Week 1, 6, 12, 18, and 24. Not only will you be having the
assessments every six weeks you will also receive a meal plan and a workout
plan. These plans will change every six-weeks!
Half Marathon Package • $70/Session Non-Members & $60/Session Members
The Half Marathon Package will include the following tests: Body Composition,
Strength, Flexibility, Height, Weight, and Cardiovascular. The package is for
3-months, being assessed on Week 1, 6, and 12. Not only will you be having the
assessments every six weeks, you will also receive a meal plan and a workout
plan. These plans will change every six-weeks!
In-Training Package • $30/Session Non-Members & $25/Session Members
The In-Training Package will include the following tests: Body Composition, Strength,
Flexibility, Height, Weight, & Cardiovascular. This package includes assessments by
the time. • No experience needed! No workout/meal plan is available with this package.
Polly Bowen, RACC’s personal trainer,
is available to help our members and non-
members reach their fitness goals, have a productive and time-efficient workout,
and feel comfortable working out in the Fitness Center. Polly will work one-on-one
with clients. Every session will be at the convenience of both client and Polly.
Polly has the proper credentials and is an avid exerciser. A session is
$20 per hour and you must go a minimum of 2 sessions. If you
would like more information regarding this,

Park Information
Alexander Ramsey Park Camping
The 2014 campground is open May 9 – October 12.
The city campground has 31 individual sites with 50 amp. electrical hookups.
There are restroom facilities with modern services and showers. Near the
restroom facility is city water and a sanitary disposal station. A limited
supply of firewood is provided free of charge.
Camping Rates:
$24 + sales tax for electrical hookup (includes dump station)
$15 + sales tax for tent camping area.
The campground has a limit of 5 nights stay.
Dump station fee for non campers is $5.00
Park Shelter Rentals
The 2014 shelter reservations are available May 9 – October 12.
The following shelter houses (all with electricity) may be reserved in advance:
Lower Park Shelter – Ramsey Park
Falls Shelter – Ramsey Park
Zeb Gray Shelter – Ramsey Park
(Note: Table removal $150 from Zeb Gray Shelter)
Legion Park Shelter – Legion Park
Westside Band Shelter – Westside Park (No Electricity)
Reservations can be made in advance by obtaining a reservation from the Redwood
Area Community Center located at 901 Cook Street or by phoning 507-644-2333
during normal business hours or online. Inside all shelters are six (6) picnic tables,
if you need more than six (6) tables you will need to contact the Redwood Area
Community Center at 507-644-2333 during normal business hours. Each extra
table will be $10.00 (moved by Parks & Recreation Staff)

for consumption on public property can be
applied for at the time of making the reservation. Fee is $25/event.
If there is no reservation, shelters are available on a first-come, first-serve basis
without charge. All users of the shelters must abide by the rules and regulations of
the City Code relating to parks. Violators will be asked to leave. No glass beverage
containers are allowed in the parks. In order to receive a refund of $5 less paid
amount + sales tax or reschedule your reservation, notification must be made
seven (7) full days before your scheduled date of arrival. No full refunds will be
given. NO REFUND ON TEMPORARY ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION PERMITS!

GLASS BEVERAGE CONTAINERS OF ANY TYPE ALLOWED IN THE PARKS!
We think pets are GREAT, as they help enhance life! However, pet owners must be
considerate of others. All pets must be on a leash at all times, and pets
must be cleaned up after in all parks and on all city street
(City Code, Section 1 0.13-misdemeanor)
Alexander Ramsey Park, Redwood Falls MN
Young children and grownups, enjoy this counting adventure around Alexander
Ramsey Park.At 219 acres in size,Alexander Ramsey Park is the largest municipal
park in the State of Minnesota. Termed as the “Little Yellowstone of Minnesota,”
the park is enhanced by 1930’s Civilian Conservation Corps shelters and bridges,
and picturesque Ramsey Falls. The park serves as a focal point for community
events, festivals, and summer activities, and features campground facilities, shelter
houses, four miles of paved hiking trails, a DNR trout stream, scenic overlooks,
and a zoo.
The Questing season runs from Mid May – Mid September
Multi-Skate Park Rules
• Skateboards and in-line skates ONLY!
• Protective equipment such as elbow, kneepads
and a helmet are recommended.
• All skaters MUST act in an orderly, safe and
respectful manner.
• Please use courtesy toward other skaters while
using the park.
• No drugs, alcohol or tobacco products.
• No littering.
• No glass containers allowed.
• No graffiti, loud music, or inappropriate language.
• Food or drink is allowed by the picnic table area.
• No food or drink inside fence.
• Skate at your own risk. The City of Redwood Falls is not responsible
for accidents.
• The City of Redwood Falls reserves the right to terminate
the time of the court, if park rules are not obeyed.
• In case of an emergency, call the police

Swimming Pool Information
Zero Depth Entry Play Area
The zero depth entry play area is a 3,986 sq. foot area that is loaded with wonderful play
features for kids of all ages. A Tropical Fish Kiddie Slide, a Multi Play System V, a dozen
floor geysers, an interactive water table, and a set of water dump buckets greet you as you
enter the Aquatic Center. The depth of the water in this area ranges from 0” in the entry area
to 3’ at its deepest end.
Diving Area
A three meter and one meter diving board as well as a 12’ Aquaclimb Climbing Wall
challenge you as you enter the diving area. This area is a 1,560 sq. foot area that ranges in
depth from 5’ to 12’. This area of the pool is open to adults and children who have passed
level 2 swimming lessons.
Plunge Area
This area acts as the drop site for two 31’5” high slides. The first slide is a 42” Open Body
Flume Slide that is 214’9” long with the second slide being a 32” Enclosed Body Flume Slide
that is 143’4” long. Participants must be at least 48” tall to go down the slides by themselves
or they must be accompanied by an adult. This area is 860 sq. feet and has a depth of 3’6”.
Swimming & Lap Swim Area
The 25 yard swimming area is a 3,292 sq. foot area with water depth ranging from 3’6” to
5’. This area of the pool is open to adults and children who have passed level 2 swimming
lessons. Non-swimming children or children who do not meet this requirement must be
in direct contact (within arms reach) with an adult or person/supervisor 15 years of age or
older. This person/supervisor must be in the water with the child.
Lily Pad Area
The Lily Pad Walk is housed in a 355 sq. ft. area with the water depth ranging
from 3’6”-4’0”. The foam floatables which are anchored to the base of the
pool serve as a movable challenge for the participants. Participants
must be tall enough to reach the
top cargo net so they can
make it to the
opposite side.

Pool Activities
Pool Parties
Pool parties may be scheduled Monday-Sunday in 1½ hr increments
(availability depends on date, time, & staff). The fee is $125.00, plus
$3.00 per person. Pool staff are not responsible for children outside of the Aquatic
Center. We require a responsible adult to be present throughout the pool party to
help monitor the participants and see that guests get home safely.
Private lessons
Fee: $18.00 for each half hour session - Swimmers are encouraged to participate
in regularly scheduled group lessons. Private lessons are available at the pool if
you meet one of the following criteria: 1) certified instructor’s recommendation; 2)
special adaptations which need to be documented. Final decisions regarding this
will be made at the discretion of the pool manager.
Junior lifeguard Class
This is an opportunity for boys & girls who have passed Level 6 swimming lessons,
but are not old enough to enter lifeguard training. Activities in this program will
include lifeguard skill building and personal swimming skill enhancement. For job

Aqua Fitness/Lap Swim Punch Pass - 10 punches - $40.00
The perfect class for finding success in a fitness routine. All activities in this class
are completed in the water. Your body joints do not suffer undue stress, yet every
movement requires you to fight through the resistance of the water. You do not
need to know how to swim to participate in this class, but you should not be afraid
of the water. Mondays & Wednesdays will be used as make-up days only.

dive into summer fun with swim team!
Work with experienced coaches to improve your strokes and learn new skills
at your own pace. No Girl Scout experience required. Girls must be able to
swim 25 yards. Teams practice 2-3 hours a week at the local pool. Meets
usually occur once a week. Compete against girls in your own age bracket.
Girls will receive swim caps. Ribbons are earned at every meet.

NOTE: When necessary, pre-testing will be done the first two days of each session to insure
correct levels. Anyone interested in knowing what level to register for, please call the RACC.
FOR ALL SESSIONS: Week 1 will be Monday-Thursday, with a make-up day on Friday;
and Week 2 will be Monday-Thursday with a make-up day on Friday (see information
below for more details). CLASS FEES for levels 2-6 are based on eight 50-minute swim
sessions. Class fees for level 1 and tiny tots are based on eight 30-minute swim
sessions. If we hold a class with less than seven students, the manager
reserves the option to reduce the total class hours, or to combine
classes together.

Youth Baseball & Softball
GRADE REQUIREMENTS ARE BASED ON GRADE CHILD IS GOING INTO THE 2014-15 SCHOOL YEAR
Have an enjoyable time developing the fundamentals & skills of baseball & softball.
Practices & games will be held Mon-Thurs (occasional Fri) with an assortment of night
games. Teams will meet 2-3 times per week. The season runs from June 2 - July
24. Sign-up deadline will be Fri, May 9. Registrants signed up after this date will be
put on a waiting list and will be put on a team ONLY if there are openings, Rosters
& schedules will be posted at the RACC & on-line by Thurs, May 22 at 5 pm.
Peanuts League
Players will have the option to hit off a tee or have a coach pitch to them. League will
stress getting outs more than scoring runs. Introduction to the basics of the sport will be
the key to success. Boys and girls will be on combined teams. Tshirt included in fees.

Cardinal Volleyball Camp
Head RVHS Volleyball Coach Andy Regnier is offering a skills camp for girls
entering 1st-9th grades. All abilities & skill levels are encouraged to participate.
Level I participant’s will be introduced to basic fundamentals, but an introduction and
passion for the game/team are our primary goals. Level II & III participants will focus
on skill & athletic development. Serving, passing, setting, attacking, & blocking
techniques will be the primary focus. Participants will be given specific feedback and

Head RVHS Football Coach Matt Lundeen is offering a skill enhancement camp
for boys & girls entering K-8th grade. Camps are geared to teach athletes the

include 1/2 fundamental work with the other 1/2 being non-contact scrimmages.

Redwood Area Gymnastics Academy
The Redwood Area Gymnastics Academy will be open again this spring, summer
and fall leading up to the Traveling Team season next winter. Coach Dean Wilson
& his staff will be offering a more advanced gymnastic class for girls who wish to
progress their gymnastics skills during the off-season. The academy is designed
for those with prior gymnastics experience. Students must be able to work

Junior Rangers is an outdoor program for children to
learn about all the environment has to offer. Some class

Adult Golf Lessons
Ideal for all beginners looking for a fun, non-threatening introduction to the game or
for newer players interested in reviewing the basic fundamentals of golf. Participants
will learn basic short game, full swing fundamentals, rules & course etiquette.
Sessions are available for beginning women and mixed beginners. Golf clubs will be
available if needed. There is no golf on the course provided with this lesson series.

These classes are designed just for seniors. No registration necessary!
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase
muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-
held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and

These classes are designed just for seniors. No registration necessary!
Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga
poses! Yoga Stretch will move your whole body through a complete series of
seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform
a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of
movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote

Redwood Falls Softball Association
The Redwood Falls Softball Association will be holding its annual meeting at the RACC
on April 3, 2014 at 6:30 pm. Anyone interested in playing, sponsoring, or managing
a team is encouraged to attend. Leagues consists of co-rec church, co-rec, and men’s
softball. Important items for the upcoming season will be discussed.
Softball Leagues
Leagues are currently being formed for church co-rec softball, as well as men’s and Co-
Rec slowpitch teams. Anyone interested in playing, sponsoring, or managing a team is
encouraged to call the Redwood Area Community Center at 644-2333.
Church League Starts May 19 • Monday Nights • 7 pm, 8 pm & 9 pm
at Westside and Johnson Parks • Rosters & League Fees due May 2
Men’s League Starts May 20 • Tuesday Nights • 6:30 pm start time

Co-Rec League Starts June 11 • Wednesday Nights • 7 pm, 8 pm & 9 pm

Co-Rec Sand Volleyball League
We will have a co-rec league for conventional 6 player teams on Thursday nights. Players
must be 16 yrs old or going into the 10th grade. Preliminary Rosters and League Fees Due

Co-Rec Fall Kickball
Go back to the playground days with kickball for ‘big’ kids. This is a friendly, self-officiated
league that will give participants the opportunity to get together with friends and have a fun
time playing a game from the past. Teams will typically be scheduled to play double headers
each league night. Team sign-up and fees are due Aug 15. Packets available July 7.

Youth Ride Passes Community Transit of Western Community Action is again offering a $30 unlimited monthly ride coupon for students up to 18 years old during the monthsofJune,JulyandAugust.These coupons can be purchased through the Western Community Action office in Marshall. Just $30 per month, per student provides the peace of mind that kids arrive safely at all their summer activities, and relieves some of the stress of keeping up with busy summer schedules.   • 7. RACC Assessments Each assessment will take approximately 1-hour and must be scheduled in advance. Any cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment will be charged a $20 fee. Personal Trainer Fitness Assessment Packages Marathon Package • $100/Session Non-Members & $90/Session Members The Marathon Package will include the following tests: Body Composition, Strength, Flexibility, Height, Weight, and Cardiovascular. The package is for 6-months, being assessed on Week 1, 6, 12, 18, and 24. Not only will you be having the assessments every six weeks you will also receive a meal plan and a workout plan. These plans will change every six-weeks! Half Marathon Package • $70/Session Non-Members & $60/Session Members The Half Marathon Package will include the following tests: Body Composition, Strength, Flexibility, Height, Weight, and Cardiovascular. The package is for 3-months, being assessed on Week 1, 6, and 12. Not only will you be having the assessments every six weeks, you will also receive a meal plan and a workout plan. These plans will change every six-weeks! In-Training Package • $30/Session Non-Members & $25/Session Members The In-Training Package will include the following tests: Body Composition, Strength, Flexibility, Height, Weight, & Cardiovascular. This package includes assessments by the time. • No experience needed! No workout/meal plan is available with this package. Polly Bowen, RACC’s personal trainer, is available to help our members and non- members reach their fitness goals, have a productive and time-efficient workout, and feel comfortable working out in the Fitness Center. Polly will work one-on-one with clients. Every session will be at the convenience of both client and Polly. Polly has the proper credentials and is an avid exerciser. A session is $20 per hour and you must go a minimum of 2 sessions. If you would like more information regarding this, please call us at 644-2333.   • 8. - 8 - Park Information Alexander Ramsey Park Camping The 2014 campground is open May 9 – October 12. The city campground has 31 individual sites with 50 amp. electrical hookups. There are restroom facilities with modern services and showers. Near the restroom facility is city water and a sanitary disposal station. A limited supply of firewood is provided free of charge. Camping Rates: $24 + sales tax for electrical hookup (includes dump station) $15 + sales tax for tent camping area. The campground has a limit of 5 nights stay. Dump station fee for non campers is $5.00 Park Shelter Rentals The 2014 shelter reservations are available May 9 – October 12. The following shelter houses (all with electricity) may be reserved in advance: Lower Park Shelter – Ramsey Park Falls Shelter – Ramsey Park Zeb Gray Shelter – Ramsey Park (Note: Table removal $150 from Zeb Gray Shelter) Legion Park Shelter – Legion Park Westside Band Shelter – Westside Park (No Electricity) Reservations can be made in advance by obtaining a reservation from the Redwood Area Community Center located at 901 Cook Street or by phoning 507-644-2333 during normal business hours or online. Inside all shelters are six (6) picnic tables, if you need more than six (6) tables you will need to contact the Redwood Area Community Center at 507-644-2333 during normal business hours. Each extra table will be $10.00 (moved by Parks & Recreation Staff) Shelter Reservations Fees Half Day $25 + sales tax Full Day $40 + sales tax Temporary Alcohol Consumption Permit $25 Extra Picnic Tables $10.00 + sales tax (Moved by Parks & Recreation Staff). Temporary Alcohol Consumption Permits for consumption on public property can be applied for at the time of making the reservation. Fee is $25/event. If there is no reservation, shelters are available on a first-come, first-serve basis without charge. All users of the shelters must abide by the rules and regulations of the City Code relating to parks. Violators will be asked to leave. No glass beverage containers are allowed in the parks. In order to receive a refund of $5 less paid amount + sales tax or reschedule your reservation, notification must be made seven (7) full days before your scheduled date of arrival. No full refunds will be given. NO REFUND ON TEMPORARY ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION PERMITS!

All pets must be on a leash at all times, and pets must be cleaned up after in all parks and on all city street (City Code, Section 1 0.13-misdemeanor) Alexander Ramsey Park, Redwood Falls MN Young children and grownups, enjoy this counting adventure around Alexander Ramsey Park.At 219 acres in size,Alexander Ramsey Park is the largest municipal park in the State of Minnesota. Termed as the “Little Yellowstone of Minnesota,” the park is enhanced by 1930’s Civilian Conservation Corps shelters and bridges, and picturesque Ramsey Falls. The park serves as a focal point for community events, festivals, and summer activities, and features campground facilities, shelter houses, four miles of paved hiking trails, a DNR trout stream, scenic overlooks, and a zoo. The Questing season runs from Mid May – Mid September Multi-Skate Park Rules • Skateboards and in-line skates ONLY! • Protective equipment such as elbow, kneepads and a helmet are recommended. • All skaters MUST act in an orderly, safe and respectful manner. • Please use courtesy toward other skaters while using the park. • No drugs, alcohol or tobacco products. • No littering. • No glass containers allowed. • No graffiti, loud music, or inappropriate language. • Food or drink is allowed by the picnic table area. • No food or drink inside fence. • Skate at your own risk.   • 10. - 10 - Swimming Pool Information Zero Depth Entry Play Area The zero depth entry play area is a 3,986 sq. foot area that is loaded with wonderful play features for kids of all ages. A Tropical Fish Kiddie Slide, a Multi Play System V, a dozen floor geysers, an interactive water table, and a set of water dump buckets greet you as you enter the Aquatic Center. The depth of the water in this area ranges from 0” in the entry area to 3’ at its deepest end. Diving Area A three meter and one meter diving board as well as a 12’ Aquaclimb Climbing Wall challenge you as you enter the diving area. This area is a 1,560 sq. foot area that ranges in depth from 5’ to 12’. This area of the pool is open to adults and children who have passed level 2 swimming lessons. Plunge Area This area acts as the drop site for two 31’5” high slides. The first slide is a 42” Open Body Flume Slide that is 214’9” long with the second slide being a 32” Enclosed Body Flume Slide that is 143’4” long. Participants must be at least 48” tall to go down the slides by themselves or they must be accompanied by an adult. This area is 860 sq. feet and has a depth of 3’6”. Swimming & Lap Swim Area The 25 yard swimming area is a 3,292 sq. foot area with water depth ranging from 3’6” to 5’. This area of the pool is open to adults and children who have passed level 2 swimming lessons. Non-swimming children or children who do not meet this requirement must be in direct contact (within arms reach) with an adult or person/supervisor 15 years of age or older. This person/supervisor must be in the water with the child. Lily Pad Area The Lily Pad Walk is housed in a 355 sq. ft. area with the water depth ranging from 3’6”-4’0”. The foam floatables which are anchored to the base of the pool serve as a movable challenge for the participants. Participants must be tall enough to reach the top cargo net so they can make it to the opposite side. Redwood Falls Aquatic Center Amenities
  • 11. - 11 - Swimming Pool Activities Pool Parties Pool parties may be scheduled Monday-Sunday in 1½ hr increments (availability depends on date, time, & staff). The fee is $125.00, plus $3.00 per person. Pool staff are not responsible for children outside of the Aquatic Center. We require a responsible adult to be present throughout the pool party to help monitor the participants and see that guests get home safely. Private lessons Fee: $18.00 for each half hour session - Swimmers are encouraged to participate in regularly scheduled group lessons. Private lessons are available at the pool if you meet one of the following criteria: 1) certified instructor’s recommendation; 2) special adaptations which need to be documented. Final decisions regarding this will be made at the discretion of the pool manager. Junior lifeguard Class This is an opportunity for boys & girls who have passed Level 6 swimming lessons, but are not old enough to enter lifeguard training. All activities in this class are completed in the water. Your body joints do not suffer undue stress, yet every movement requires you to fight through the resistance of the water. You do not need to know how to swim to participate in this class, but you should not be afraid of the water. Mondays & Wednesdays will be used as make-up days only. Tuesdays & Thursdays • June 10 - Aug 14 • 8:30-9:15 p.m. • (Min. 6) dive into summer fun with swim team! Work with experienced coaches to improve your strokes and learn new skills at your own pace. No Girl Scout experience required. Girls must be able to swim 25 yards. Teams practice 2-3 hours a week at the local pool. Meets usually occur once a week. Compete against girls in your own age bracket. Girls will receive swim caps. Ribbons are earned at every meet.   • 23. Join A League! Redwood Falls Softball Association The Redwood Falls Softball Association will be holding its annual meeting at the RACC on April 3, 2014 at 6:30 pm. Anyone interested in playing, sponsoring, or managing a team is encouraged to attend. Leagues consists of co-rec church, co-rec, and men’s softball. Important items for the upcoming season will be discussed. Softball Leagues Leagues are currently being formed for church co-rec softball, as well as men’s and Co- Rec slowpitch teams.
