The Fort Stewart Forestry Department brought a field trip to a third grade class at Frank Long Elementary. The students learned about local habitats and animals like alligators and gopher tortoises. They were able to touch a live alligator and gopher tortoise. The forestry guides pointed out different plants and animals along the nature path. The students had an engaging and educational experience learning about the local wildlife.
