COMPARED TO 2010
More than 23,000 professional visitors attended
Project Iraq 2011, The 4th International Trade
Exhibition for Construction and Environmental
Technology for Iraq, organized by IFP Iraq from 19 to
22 September 2011, at Erbil International Fairground
in Erbil – Kurdistan Region.
Over the past 4 editions, Project Iraq succeeded in
establishing itself as the region’s single largest and
fastest growing specialized show, satisfying all the
needs of Iraq’s construction sector. This year, the
number of participants in Project Iraq grew to 393
exhibitors – a 30% increase compared to the 2010
edition – hosting more companies from 20 countries
around the world to display a comprehensive
range of construction products and environmental
technologies related to the building sector.
Exhibitors were very enthusiastic about their
participation this year and were positively pleased
with the number and quality of visitors coming from
Iraq (88%), the Levant Region (6%) and Turkey (4%).
Project Iraq 2011 was held concurrently with Elenex
Iraq 2011, The International Energy Exhibition for
Iraq Covering Electrical Engineering, Lighting, Power
Generation and Distribution. Elenex Iraq 2011 was the
ideal complement to Project Iraq 2011, addressing
the country’s huge demand for technology,
equipment, products and services related to water
and energy solutions across the construction sector
and in public projects particularly.
Thanks to this combination, Project Iraq
attracted a greater number of business leaders
and entrepreneurs from the region, offering
greater business and high-profile networking
opportunities, and creating a favorable environment
for regional and international brands eager to
penetrate local markets.

DIRK GREGENWALDT VAG-ARMATUREN GMBH (GERMANY)
We participated in Project Iraq because we believe that there is a huge potential for
our products on the market in Iraq and especially in Kurdistan. We wanted to find new
clients and to strengthen our existing relationships with our clients in the region. We
did very good business with a good number of serious visitors and we are sure that
there is a very high potential for the future as well.
MARCO TOBISCH BAYERN INTERNATIONAL (GERMANY)
This is the first time that Bavaria participates in Project Iraq. The exhibition’s
organization was more professional than in other shows and our exhibitors received
a lot of help in making contact with local businessmen and quality visitors. We will
definitely come back next year with a greater number of participating companies.
DATO DZULKIFLI MATRADE (MALAYSIA)
This year marked Malaysia’s second participation in Project Iraq and we are very happy
with our results; we met representatives from 5 ministries and several Iraqi companies
from different regions. Every year IFP is improving the show’s quality, organization and
facilities, attracting larger numbers of visitors. We hope to come back next year and
start a closer collaboration with Iraqi companies.
VIOLA ORSETTA PALADINI VENETO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (ITALY)
20 Italian companies across the construction sector and related industries participated
for the first time in Project Iraq this year. It is the most important exhibition for
construction in Iraq and we feel the country is working to reach a very good level of
development, especially in the Kurdistan Region. We are very happy to be here and we
are looking forward to building new partnerships with Iraq.
RODOLFO MANOTTI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE REGGIO EMILIA (ITALY)
Our participation in Project Iraq is the first step in our plan to invest in Iraq and our aim
was to demonstrate and share our know-how in this important new market. We were
happy to see that our products received a lot of positive feedback and interest from
quality visitors.
