6. giving back
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reaches back to CBI’s earliest days and has shaped
how we conduct business. Reflecting the principles and values exemplified by company
founder Marvin Sands, our CSR efforts are focused on improving the health and well-
being of the people and the environment at each of our business locations around the
world. We believe our long-term success is tied directly to our ability to make a positive
difference in our communities. Constellation Brands’ CSR platform rests on three pillars:
Giving, Social Responsibility, and Sustainability.
GIVING
Constellation Brands has a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the
communities in which we operate through our culture of giving. There are three guiding
principles: to establish respectful, mutually beneficial partnerships with community
members, employees, government, and business partners to achieve our goals; to align
giving in a way that leverages our financial, technological, and human resources in
support of our communities; and to focus the company’s giving in three areas we believe
positively affect quality of life: Healthcare, Education, and the Arts.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
As a beverage alcohol industry leader, we take our commitment to promote safe and
responsible drinking very seriously. We are involved in a number of initiatives that
address the societal impact of the misuse of beverage alcohol, and we support a number
of organizations around the world that promote responsible drinking. We are also
committed to ensuring that all of our marketing and advertising reflects the industry’s
highest standards and best practices. We abide by our Global Code of Responsible
Practices for Beverage Alcohol Advertising and Marketing, and are an active participant in
industry self-regulatory efforts to ensure appropriate marketing messages are directed
at legal, drinking-age consumers.

Constellation Brands acknowledges its environmental stewardship obligations, and looks
for ways to minimize the organization’s worldwide environmental impact. We look to the
