Food is largest consumption category in India. The simplest reason for India’s consumption being so big is ….. POPULATION.
We continue to produce significant quantities of agriculture produce! The simplest reason again is that the area under cultivation is huge.
It is important to get into the details. If the opportunity is really there, WHERE is it? Please take a look at the above segments and sub-segments.
So, there is opportunity for the students from agri & allied sciences and even for the ones from other backgrounds to get into the Agri Business Management. When you complete the Management in Agri Business, you can get into different sectors as seen in the previous slide and you can get into different functions in each of those sectors.
Lets look at some of the companies that you might recognize in each of the segments that we mentioned. This would give you more clarity and take you closer to reality.

Eligibility Minimum qualification for admission to the PGDM (Agri Business) is ICAR/UGC recognized graduation, preferably in agriculture and allied subjects such agriculture, agriculture engineering, horticulture, veterinary, fisheries, dairy science, dairy technology, and Food Technology with a minimum OGPA of 5.00 out of 10.00 or 50% aggregate marks or their equivalents. Those who are in the final year and expect to complete all the requirements of their degree by June 30, 2010 can also apply. International students from Asia, Africa and Latin America will find the course very relevant. Hence those International students with equivalent qualifications as above can also apply.
