2. In what ways does your media products, develop or challenge
forms and conventions of real media products?
For our chosen genre, we decided to look at similar music videos for
help on the typical codes and conventions of a boy band video.
For our video, we incorporated a dance routine that Is visible in nearly
every boy band video we researched.
We also noticed that the majority of the boy band videos we watched were
“cheesy”. With this we came up with the idea to use powers as a use for the
story line. This worked well as trying to impress a girl with powers is as
“cheesy” as it can get.
3. How effective is the combination of your main
product and ancillary texts?
The combination of the product and the ancillary texts are use of the main music
video, digipack and poster. We used elements of our music video to help add
ideas we can out on our digipack and poster.

music video.
5. What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
For our audience feedback, we took most help from the class feedback we
gathered. Due to a member of the group, we were unable to take many of these
changes into action. We needed more close ups for the dance scene, but being
unable to meet up meant we could not get this done.
For other forms of feedback, we used Facebook as a source for this. We gained
many views for from this, but not many people gave feedback. The only
comments made, were to say that they enjoyed it.
6. How did you use new media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and evaluation
stages?
For new media technology, we used the known main equipment when filming.
This included the camera for filming, using Youtube and Itunes for music
research. We also used sites such as blogger to help keep our found
information filed.
When we out filming, we used our phones and Ipods to help us know when to
sing and not to sing when filming certain scenes. This helped us a lot, as it
kept us in sync when editing our music video.
