A digital learning strategy makes a significant and positive impact on organizations, learners, and patients. Learning management systems empower organizations to deploy educational programs, develop competencies, and apply accreditations. In this webinar we covered best practices when considering moving from classroom-based training to online delivery. This includes the needs of your audience, content creation, delivery, post training data collection, and learning analytics insights.

A ceLTIc project webinar. The ceLTIc project shows how to enable LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) connectors to build a flexible infrastructure. This session will discuss how the JISC-funded ceLTIc:sharing project is evaluating the use of LTI to provide a shared service for institutions interested in evaluating WebPA. It will include a demonstration of linking to the tool from Blackboard Learn 9 and Moodle, as well as how the outcomes service along with the unofficial memberships and setting extensions are being used to enhance this integration in a VLE-independent way. This desktop research commissioned by the Higher Education Academy set out to consult with the academic community about which references on assessment and feedback with technology enhancement were most useful to practitioners. While all the recommended publications may be characterised as reputable and the majority were peer-reviewed (67.7%), only a minority provided quantitative data (28.2%), of which relatively few provided appropriate experimental designs or statistical analysis (18.5%). The majority of publications were practitioner-led case studies. The references that were recommended to us are clearly having an impact on current practice and are found valuable by practitioners. The key messages from these sources are consistent and often give detailed and practical guidance for other academics. We found that most of the recommended literature focused on the goals that technology enhancement can enable assessment and feedback to meet and how assessment and feedback can be designed to make best use of the technology.

Here at Manchester Metropolitan University we have recently completed the roll out of an apps for teaching and learning project that is centrally licencing and supporting 5 apps (Vevox, Mentimeter, Kahoot, Padelt and Nearpod) that we believe promote and enhance active learning practices for our students. To do this we developed a learning activities frame work based on some research we undertook into the types of activities teaching staff were employing in their practice. This framework has allowed us to select a relative small, but we think, well mapped set of tools to enable colleagues to design and deliver a broad range of learning activities in their practice. A new challenge is on the horizon for the education sector. The AQF is currently under review and the sector is rapidly trying to adapt to the changing needs of industry. Digital/Micro-credentialing and badges may be the answer. In this webinar session we will take a look at what is currently happening around the sector, discuss what the future workforce will look like and the types of learners that education providers will need to produce, what this all means to our current curricula and how ePortfolios could be a perfect tool to help facilitate the credentialing and badging process.

Presented at #OpenED Friday, November 13 • 2:30pm - 2:30pm Tanya Joosten and Kate Lee-McCarthy The Digital Learning Innovation Trends report identifies the 10 most prominent trends in digital learning. The report, published in 2020 by OLC and DETA, stemmed from the Every Learner Everywhere Network and its initiatives. It was developed using OLC Digital Learning Innovation Award submissions plus a review of documents produced by industry leaders, national organizations advancing technology in learning, journals and peer-reviewed research, news and media sources, and prominent research centers. While research indicates that OER is one of the top trends in digital learning, the findings about open resources are not exactly what one would expect. To maximize the potential of OER to support digital learning, it is important to examine not just existing implementation and utilization, but to empirically link these initiatives with student success. Combining our expertise and experiences, we can better identify effective actions as well as gaps in research and practice to shape a better digital learning experience and support more students in their learning endeavors. Further, reaching others through our research can propel technology development and utilization, as well as further advance OER integration with active learning platforms. Watch our lightning talk highlighting the Trends Report, the surprise findings about OER, and get insider information and preliminary results on more empirical research on OER that the same teams are working on today. In this session you’ll hear from some of the top leaders in the space and gain knowledge about why OER trended, what the concerns are regarding current research (including equity and the close ties there are to OER), and our proposed next steps plus recommendations to propel this fantastic resource further into practical implementation at institutions and learning environments. Learning Outcomes: 5 Learning Outcomes of OER & the Digital Learning Innovation Trends Report: 1) Introduction to the Digital Learning Innovations Trends report 2) Understand how OER was identified as a primary trend 3) Learn about surprising OER findings in relation to the report 4) Understand continued empirical research being done on OER 5) Identify proposed next steps and recommendations for OER implementation and use

Successful implementation of e-Learning Pedagogical considerations.Thavamalar Govindasamy Traxmedia Sdn Berhad, 17-1, Jalan Mewah 2/2B, Regalia Business Center, 47500 Subang Mewah, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia Abstract Many institutions of Higher Education and Corporate Training Institutes are resorting to e-Learning as a means of solving authentic learning and performance problems, while other institutions are hopping onto the bandwagon simply because they do not want to be left behind. Success is crucial because an unsuccessful effort to implement e-Learning will be clearly reflected in terms of the return of investment. One of the most crucial prerequisites for successful implementation of e-Learning is the need for careful consideration of the underlying pedagogy, or how learning takes place online. In practice, however, this is often the most neglected aspect in any effort to implement e-Learning. The purpose of this paper is to identify the pedagogical principles underlying the teaching and learning activities that constitute effective e-Learning. An analysis and synthesis of the principles and ideas by the practicing e-Learning company employing the author will also be presented, in the perspective of deploying an effective Learning Management Systems (LMS). E-learning process has been widely used in university campus and educational institutions are playing vital role to enhance the skill set of students. Modern E-learning done by many electronic devices, such as smartphones, Tabs, and so on, on existing E-learning tools is insufficient to achieve the purpose of online training of education. This paper presents a survey of online e-Learning authoring tools for creating and integrating reusable e-learning tool for generation and enhancing existing learning resources with them. The work concentrates on evaluation of the existing e-learning tools a, and authoring tools that have shown good performance in the past for online learners. This survey work takes more than 20 online tools that deal with the educational sector mechanism, for the purpose of observations, and the outcome were analyzed. The findings of this paper are the main reason for developing a new tool, and it shows that educators can enhance existing learning resources by adding assessment resources, if suitable authoring tools are provided. Finally, the different factors that assure the reusability of the created new e-learning tool has been analysed in this paper.E-learning environment is a guide for both students and tutorial management system. The useful on the e-learning system for apart from students and distance learning students. The purpose of using e-learning environment for online education system, developed in data mining for more number of clustering servers and resource chain has been good.
