A simple description of a site I designed and built for a client. Large data set processing on a mainframe tied to a Cold Fusion web front end.

1. Project Title: CCSSE Survey query and reporting
Period: July 2003 – December 2003
Client: Community College Survey of Student Engagement with KSA
Plus
Complexity: 2 database servers, 25 tables, 95 Mb.
Technology: Cold Fusion MX, SAS 8 statistical server, SQL Server 2000
Summary: Every year CCSSE surveys thousands of students at around 100
colleges on almost 100 different questions. In addition,
demographic data is collected at the student and college level.
The CCSSE survey system required that multiple, disparate data
sets be cleaned up, homogenized and loaded to the SAS and SQL
Server. SAS scripts were written to load the data, run a number of
different queries and generate complicated dynamic graphs.
The system is separated into two sections, pub lic and private. The
public section has access to a limited number of functions and can
only search within one years worth of data. The members only
section allows multi- year queries as well as additional search
parameters.
Code Gurus was the sole developer on this project. KSA Plus
managed graphical design and project management.
