Science writer Connie Barlow has used this fun and scientifically correct introduction to our evolutionary journey as guest teacher in nearly 100 Montessori, Unitarian Universalist, and other settings where evolution can be taught. It is a journey back through time, based on Richard Dawkins' 2004 book, Ancestors Tale, with 40 junctures where we meet our next closest cousins. Starting with Confluence #1, where we meet chimpanzees and bonobos, who are also journeying back through time, we celebrate our common ancestry. In just 40 steps (e.g., all plants join our journey together at Confluence #36) we arrive at the Origin of Life.
