Today they share their time between Ann Arbor, Michigan and New York City. When in Ann Arbor, they live in a renovated, 100 year old barn with plenty of workspace. When Erin works on her illustrations, she uses a drafting table from a former Detroit Edison electric draftsman. Living in Michigan has influenced the content of her illustrations, as can be seen in Bear Has a Story to Tell and And Then It’s Spring.- SamanthaDeMarSpeaking
  4. http://erinstead.com/ - Image from And Then It’s Springhttp://reachroadgallery.com/woodblock.htm – information concerning Woodblock Printing process (consulted)Erin Stead uses the method of woodblock printing to create her illustrations. This process begins with a drawing or sketch. The reverse image is then meticulously carved onto a wooden block. After the block has been crafted to the artist’s liking, it is rolled with ink. Each color must be carefully placed and layered. Paper is firmly placed onto the inked block. Image is then transferred once pressure is applied. After woodblock printing is complete, final touches are added.- Christina Robert Speaking
