9. BENEFICI DELLA
TECNOLOGIA PCTTM
Resistiva – Membrana flessibile posta sull’intera superficie
Capacitiva Superficiale – Strato conduttivo ITO applicato sull’intera superficie
frontale del sensore
Tutte queste tecnologie si basano su una interazione frontale diretto con
il sensore e quindi i touchscreen possono essere soggetti ad usura, atti
vandalici, danni, cambiamenti ambientali (es: pioggia, luce diretta, neve)
La tecnologia ZYTRONIC BREVETTATA Projected Capacitive
Technology (PCTTM) utilizza un sensore che è completamente
integrato DIETRO il vetro frontale

Firstly, a few words about Zytronic… We are a long established company which has taken its core competence in display grade glass lamination techniques and has used them to a develop a unique touch technology. PCT touch sensors have been successfully used in the field for >9 years enabling major global companies to deploy touch interactivity in any environment. Today, Zytronic exports almost 90% of its production around the globe.
From the beginning our strategy has been to operate as a component developer and manufacturer We do not try to compete with our customer base Instead we focus our R&D resources on pushing our chosen technology further
So what is PCT and what makes it unique? The main differentiator is the position of the sensor relative to the user. In common with other types of projected capacitive sensors, the sensor is completely protected from the surrounding environment by a layer of glass However, as I will shortly explain, PCT has some distinctive attributes. Furthermore, the process of manufacturing is extremely flexible enabling an almost limitless range of sizes, and custom designs without the need for tooling. We therefore believe it is the most rounded touch technology currently available
And one of more ASIC’s can be linked to increase the number of sensing channels that can be multiplexed This has resulted in a new family of controllers - which we are naming the ZXY100 series. As you can see, each controller has the same 32 bit ARM core, but with extra ASICs added depending on the number of sensing channels. As the number of channels increases, we can increase the size of the sensor whilst maintaining accuracy and resolution Meanwhile the new ARM chip allows us to improve upon touch response time.
So with these advantages, it is no surprise that our technology has been widely adopted for use in public interactive applications, such as: Self service equipment Vending and ticketing kiosks Banking terminals
Industrial and medical displays
And now increasingly in Digital signage and Interactive point of information displays
