                     Back to School Shopping
it is the time of year for sharpening pencils, navigating crowded aisles full
of children and parents anxious to check off the items on their page-long
 back to school list.
Every year it seems that those lists are getting longer and those items
more expensive. So what can we do to reduce that big hole in our pocket
books that back to school shopping can create?.
According to an article at parenting.com, there are some things you
 can do to save money.
 1. Let children raid the home office supplies. Kids can decorate pencils
with stickers and make photo collages for plain white binders.
 2. Check out the local circulars for best deals on basic supplies.
 3. Stick to the list. Have your child pay for any upgrades or extras.
 4. For school clothes, it isn’t necessary to buy the sweaters and longer
sleeves right at the beginning of the school year. Take advantage of
late-summer sales. Polos and tees can be worn well into the season.

  • 1. FRSA Flash 10 August Back to School Shopping it is the time of year for sharpening pencils, navigating crowded aisles full of children and parents anxious to check off the items on their page-long back to school list. Every year it seems that those lists are getting longer and those items more expensive. So what can we do to reduce that big hole in our pocket books that back to school shopping can create?. According to an article at parenting.com, there are some things you can do to save money. 1. Let children raid the home office supplies. Kids can decorate pencils with stickers and make photo collages for plain white binders. 2. Check out the local circulars for best deals on basic supplies. 3. Stick to the list. Have your child pay for any upgrades or extras. 4. For school clothes, it isn’t necessary to buy the sweaters and longer sleeves right at the beginning of the school year. Take advantage of late-summer sales. Polos and tees can be worn well into the season. For more great back to school tips, see the original article at http://www.parenting.com/article/10-back-to-school-shopping-tips-that- save-money Calendars 1-2 Security 9 Fort Drum Notes/Info 3 Area Events 10-12 Military Events 4-7 ACS Information 13 Back to School 8 BN Information and Drum Assistace 14-15 Common Terminology28 ACS=Army Community Service 772-6566 AFTB=Army Family Team Building 772-6710ERP=Employment Readiness Program 77 VCCUS=Volunteer Childcare in a Unit Setting FRMP=Financial /Readiness/Management Program 772-5196 F RG=Family Readiness GroupCLIF=Community Leader’s Information Forum VMIS-Volunteer Management Information System 1 DONSA=Day of No Scheduled Activities-Fort Drum agencies may have an adjusted operating schedule
