We hardly focus on things in our
life that are going well –
However we continually are
focussing on the things that
aren’t working well.
And we see these things
differently to those that do not
see the same thing as a problem.

6. So how can Hypnotherapy
help and what is it?
Hypnotherapy is a State of
Heightened Awareness
– We are able to access our emotional
mind which is at a deeper level – the
one we have named - the
subconscious... This part has the
ability to release negative past beliefs,
fears, anxieties and defeating coping
methods in an instant if it makes
sense to it, and it wants to do that.
– It is able to help alter Psychological
and Physiological structures

• Research says that it takes 7-10 days
for the chemicals in cigarettes to leave
the body...
• Research says that it takes 12 weeks
for marijuana to leave the body...
• Hypnosis is able to release the craving
and withdrawal under awareness from
the conscious body in one session for
both.
• But it doesn’t always do this –
why not?

– Intuition, hypothesising, checking
this with the client

patient has been shown to be
most important in the
therapeutic relationship, so
certainly ANY approach can get
some results, even dramatic
ones.

20. Hypnotherapy does not require
the patient to necessarily
understand intrinsically who they
are on a conscious level, but that
they can be released emotionally
and move on.
Outcome evaluation is by way of a SUD’s
(subjective units of distress) rating or a
VAS (Visual Analogue Scale).

hypnotherapist) has the hypnotherapy expertise for
what you want them to do for you.

If a hypnotherapist can assist you
with what you feel the patient
needs to do to get better –
then we are helping you, and we
are helping your patients to
achieve a better outcome under
your guidance.

papers coming out that are able to
validate the efficacy of
hypnotherapy –
pubmed
cochrane
are just 2 of the sites where you can
find these.
However, it is helpful to remember
not all outcome ends up in research
papers.

24. There are many things that I
have helped people with where
there is no research.
Can this be duplicated with other
clients by other therapists?
– that of course would require
another research.
