- Gather audience feedback from various sources – eg. social networking, focus groups.
- Discuss the feedback you have received – what worked well? Were there any areas which
you need to focus on in the future?
- You could also link in some audience theory. Consider Stuart Hall (encoding/decoding).

P- As Jenny’s producer I have been in contact with some colleges of mine and friends within
the industry, via email, for their views and constructive criticism on the video product as a
hole this is the feedback I received
- I really like the editing and it really fits in with the beat of the song and I like the scenes in
the diner however you could possibly have added a little narrative into these scenes to
make the video more engaging for readers. Overall I think the mise-en-scene and editing
is great and this video is something I'd expect to see from a professional star.
- Very strong editing which fits the beats in the song well, however I feel that shots could
do with some movement to make them just that bit more interesting. The end shots with
projections look very professional! The lip-syncing is good and the video is stylistically
very consistent. Well done.
- Response from a media representative in the industry
p-Stuart hall is a theorist that I have very strong beliefs in , and he argues that a meaning is not fixed or
determined by the producer, the massage is never transparent therefore the audience is not a
passive recipient of meaning. They are entitled to a
Preferred theory where the audience agrees to our theme
Negotiated theory were the audience agrees with the theme but also give their own input
to the theory.
Oppositional theory is when the audience go completely against our theme.
