The Millwoods Recreation Center experienced two plumbing drain line failures. The first was a broken sewer drainage pipe, which was repaired by replacing the broken fitting and filling the trench. The second failure occurred when fill-crete used in the first repair inadvertently entered and plugged the storm drain. This required excavating inside and outside the building to reroute drain lines and access 18 feet of buried storm drain pipe. Over $500,000 was spent to hydro-vacuum 13,000 pounds of fill-crete from the 165-foot storm drain line and install a liner to repair damaged sections.
